ALEX POV (hope you enjoy this one! I'm on a road trip.... with my shpherd and even worse... my sister. wish me luck yall)
After finding Sean yesterday I'm not as hesitant about where we are going. I'm kind of mad at hI'm because he scared Rumi by some matter, she won't tell me though. Sean is leading and talking to Camen while Rumi and I walk together in the back.
"Rumi please tell me what happened yesterday." I plead "I just want to help."
"No! I just dont want to talk about it, I'm sorry." She apologizes.
"Dont apologize, its your privacy and I understand that." I say sympathetically
She sighs loudly "I guess Ill tell you." She drops her voice to a whisper
"Thank you." I whisper
"He told me he loves me." She says practically shaking in fear tears silently slide down her cheeks "I don't know anything about love!"
"That moron!" I shout causing the guys to look back at us
"Who moron?" Camen asks
"What's up with yall and talking about Camen? He's not all that you think he is." Sean teases Camen
"Shut up Sean, go back to what you were doing." I say
"Or what?" Sean says threatening my sanity
"Or I take your head." I say
"You aren't serious." he says, still focused on Rumi and I
"Arent I?" I say raising an eyebrow at his rebellious stupidity
"You're bluffing." He says squinting his eyes
"Wanna bet?" I ask
"I don't know abo-" I cut him off by throwing the knife so that it gets close enough to his head that it shaves of a bit of his skin. The knife then embeds itself in a tree next to his head.
"You crazy witch!" he shouts at me yanking the knife out of the tree
"Hmm?" I say just to taunt him
"This could have killed me!" He shouts again
"I told you to get out of our business." I snarl at him "So you should do just that.
"Maybe we should take a rest, babe." Camen says coming over beside me
"Don't you ever call me that!" I snap then I apologize.
"You're fine. Don't get your knickers in a twist." He says running his fingers through his hair
"We don't need to take a break. What we need is to get to Phili and fast because I'm tired of wasting my days!" I whine "Ill stop throwing knives at his head if he minds his own business. Easy as that."
"Fine." Camen says "Then we walk." He turns around and I'm not sure if I've made him mad or not
"Alexis." Rumi whispers harshly to get my attention
I turn my head to her, we are both whispering now "What?"
"You and Camen?" She asks hesitantly "Are you two a... thing?"
" Uh I dont know. He kissed me once, I just don't know." I sigh
"He,"She pauses apalled "Kissed you?" She says her pitch increasing and squeaking
"Yes."
"Did you kiss back?" she asks
"I don't want to talk about this." I say turning to look at the trees
I hear the guys faint whispering and I can't help but get curious. Rumi sees the glint in my eye and says "Curiosity killed the cat, Alex."
"Alex killed the cat, Rumi." I say lauhhing maniacally
Her shoulders slump at the thought of her old cat Ragged which I gutted so we could have for dinner. She didn't realize until a week later and when I told her she had been eating him for three days she vomited all of the tabby cat onto our floor.
"Don't talk about Ragged anymore." She says sadly
"Sorry."
"No you arent! Youvwere only sorry when I puked up the meals." She says wearily
Sean breaks our conversation by twlling us we need to really stop and rest so that we aren't walking during the night. I lay down my things next to a log on which I prop up to sleep. Rumi lays beside me and Sean beaise her. Camen climbs up to sleep in the branches of a tree.
Sean volunteers first watch so that Rumi and I can sleep. I slouch down and get comfortable for the night.
I wake up to some rattling beside my head. I see a form searching through my things. I look over and see that Sean is asleep against a tree, Rumi asleep beside me. I look up and see Camen is asleep in the tree. In one swift move I roll past the person and then stand up.
I grab my knife from my belt and put my arm in front of what I now realize is a her. I put the knife to her neck and cover her mouth with my hand to supress her scream. She has short red hair with yellow spikes.
"We are going to do this my way. You are going to leave. You aren't going to come back. Or I kill you." I say unwrapping my hand
"Please! I'm so sorry Alex I-" I cut her off
"How do you know my name?" I ask
"I-I I've heard it around! Please don't," she gulps "kill me." I let go of her and kick her into a tree. I rake a bit of rope and tie her to the tree.
"I will kill you." I threaten
She whimpers in response but I'm not paying attention. I march over to Sean and kick him. He wakes up immediately. I reach down and punch him.
"You fell asleep! ON YOUR WATCH!" I shout at him
"Sorry."
"Too bad! We have some freak searching through my things now. She knows my NAME!"
"So kill her."
"Can't, I need to know how she knows my name first." I sigh
