ALEX POV!!!!! (This is a funny chapter, at least I think so. School was stressful today. Can I get an Amen?)

I get up and realize I am asleep on the wooden chairs. I go into the bed room and see that Rumi isn't in her bed, I don't know where she is but instead of freaking out I just assume she probably went out with Sean or something, it really doesn't bother me anymore. Maybe I will scare her when they get home though, put a little fear into those Rumi genes.

I tromp into the kitchen, not bothering to be quiet since Rumi isn't here or asleep. I reach blindly for a piece of fruit yet my hand grasps nothing. Frustrated I look down through sleepy eyes and see that we are out of fruit. I guess this means I am going to have to buy some.

I sigh with sleepiness and go to the bathroom. I run the water in the barrel bathtub so that it isn't very deep and therefore doesn't use much water. I strip and get into it. As I reach for the soap I realize we are out of that too. Now really flustered I get out and lazily put of my clothes for today, which just so happen to be the over sized t-shirt and dark green pants that swamp my ankles.

I go out to the living room and grab my boots from beside the door. I slip them onto my feet and tighten the laces, looping them together in a knot so I won't trip. I go outside and intend to get my errands of the day completed so that I can just relax by the warm fire. As soon as I step outside my arms form goose bumps. The air outside is freezing and uncomfortable which makes me want to get what I need and go even faster than before.

I step into the market and  easily find a fruit stand. They are selling "not ripe" pears and oranges twenty for one point. I look at the fruit and see that what they are selling would be a rarity to find back at our old accord. I get a sudden surge of emotion at the thought of the place I had lived for a while. It seems like ages ago when we lived there, it also seems that I am a different person now, more mature and slower to a kill. I know my priorities.

I just happen to look to my right and see a familiar face. It is Evan. My eyes bulge, he's coming this way! I see to my left a large group of barrels that will conceal me. I duck behind them quickly, hoping he didn't see this desperate technique. I hear his laughter at something one of the other resistance members said. Then, his feet stop in front of me.

"Resorting to hiding, are we Alexis?" He asks with a bit of a friendly chuckle

"Don't call me that!" I sneer towards him with arching of eyebrows

"Alex, then." He says his eyes looking like I hurt him.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you." I apologize starting to stand up. He offers me his hand and pulls me up to my feet. I dust off my butt and look at him.

"So, what are you doing here?" He asks

"Getting some fruit." I say returning to the stand I was at and asking for the whole basket of rotten fruit. The woman scans my Resistance tattoo that Evan gave me and then hands me the basket.

"Gross! Why did you buy rotten fruit?" Evan exclaims pointing at the fruit in my basket

"Unlike you, I've grown up on fruit that was completely brown." I say smirking causing him to shiver with disgust

"Well let me carry the nasty for you then." He says taking the fruit basket for me. I walk past a blanket where a strange animal with floppy ears has a bunch of smaller things sitting around it.

"What are those?" I ask pointing to the cute fuzzy things

"A dog with baby puppies. Don't tell me you've never seen a domestic dog before." Evan says laughing

"Nope, never one that wasn't trying to kill me, oh, except for that one I had for dinner." I say looking for his reaction. His eyes show horror and surprise. "Kidding!" I say causing him to exhale largely
