~...the way we fell in love it was almost instant...~
"Thanks for inviting me out today," Naomi whispered as we sat on the couch together.
Harley laid on the opposite end on the verge of taking a nap.
"Anytime," I nodded," Harley really admires you and...I...I enjoy your company."
"The feeling is highly mutual," she smiled as our hands touched.
I went ahead and took the initiative and held her hand in my lap.
It just felt right to do.
"How did it go with your boss?" I asked remembering what she had told me about the interview and being promoted.
"She liked it enough to publish, but not enough to promote me," Naomi sighed.
"I'm sorry to hear that," I croaked squeezing her palm.
"Eh, maybe she'll have a change of heart," Naomi answered optimistically.
"Is she sleep?" I asked nodding in Harley's direction.
Naomi peeked over and nodded.
I guess all that running around the nail shop had worn her out.
"Want to roll one?"
"That shouldn't even be a question," she laughed.
"Alright," I chuckled," Let me go dip in my stash real quick. Meet me out front."
Naomi nodded getting up and unlocking the door.
I walked down the hall to the guest room and opened a drawer on the dresser that I kept my boxers in.
I dug up my pair of grey Calvin's from the bottom of the drawer. I had used them to wrap the ziplock bag full of weed up in along with some papers. I took three buds out and headed for the front door.
Before leaving out, I took the blanket Grandma Ann always kept on the couch to cover Harley up with.
I bent down and planted a kiss on her cheek then went outside.
It was kind of chilly out, as the sun was on the border of setting.
I found Naomi sitting on the hood of my car in the garage.
She didn't even notice my presence when I walked up.
I stood there for a moment taking in all of her beauty.
I could only imagine all the things I'd do to her....the things I'd be able to do for her if she allowed it, but I had to take this shit slow. I don't want a redo of my last relationship, even if being with Naomi did feel right.
"Bryson," she called my name sweetly,"What are you doing?"
"Uh..." I scratched my head," nothing just thinking."
I walked over to my car where she was and sat next to her.
"Seems like you were thinking pretty hard," Naomi mentioned as I handed her over the weed to roll up for us.
