~...I just needed someone I can vibe with--I just needed someone to get high with--I just needed someone I can fall for...~

"I'm not really good at planning dates, but," I rubbed my forehead," I tried. That's for sure."

Naomi smiled gawking over the picnic I had set up for us this evening at the park.

I wanted to make it special so she could see that I was serious about making us a thing.

Good thing nobody was really around except for a few bicyclists.

"You did pretty good to me. No one has ever put in so much effort as you have on a first date with me before."

"Really? I doubt it. You're just saying that," I sighed reaching for a green grape.

"If it was terrible--trust me, I'd let you know."

"You don't mind the flies?" I asked swatting one away from in front of my nose.

Naomi shook her head,"Not at all. I'm not that boujee."

I watched her as she ate the various hors d' oeuvres I had fixed for us: celery sticks, grapes, red wine, wheat crackers with goat cheese, pretzel sticks, Nutella, and Grandma Ann's homemade chicken salad.

Naomi even looked stunning stuffing her face. Stuffing her face....

Shut up. You're such a perv, I told myself.

"Nutella?" She laughed holding up the small jar.

"Are you allergic?" I frowned.

"No," Naomi shook her head," You just have all these fancy foods and then..."

"You can't have a good date without some chocolate," I objected," Nutella is life. I could eat that shit all day."

Naomi laughed," Touché."

"If you don't want any then I'll--" I began to say taking the jar out of her grasp.

"No, no, no. I like it. Give it back," Naomi pouted," Just know that you didn't really have to do this for me."

"I wanted to," I assured," You've been too good to me since I've been home--support wise and that means a lot."

"Aww, thanks. Glad I could help you out."

"Welcome."

"So how's the song writing going for you?" Naomi asked.

"Definitely better than before. I get more ideas and inspirations everyday. I've got a bunch of lyrics written down randomly I just have to make them fit like a puzzle piece with another set of lyrics and boom. It's a record," I explained dipping three pretzels in the creamy chocolate before plopping them all in my mouth.

Little did she know that one of my new inspirations was her.

"You can do it. You're an amazing artist overall," Naomi encouraged.

"You think so?"

Naomi nodded," Absolutely."

"Sometimes I feel like I don't do enough, you know? Like I'm not pushing myself the hardest. Sometimes I think that maybe one day all my so called fans will turn on me if I make one stupid flop song," I admitted," I feel pressured a lot. It seems like I have no room for errors."
