~...you know all of my secrets and you know all of my weaknesses...~

Naomi's POV

"For the first time ever in my career here, I have to say I am way past speechless, Naomi. I've got to give you your props, girl. This is the hard hitting exposé I've been trying to pull out of you! Why didn't you bring this piece to me in the first place!?"

"I guess I didn't--I didn't think it would be so outstanding to you," I lied as I sat with my legs crossed in front of my boss.

"Outstanding? It's superb! Genuinely written and edited. This is what the work of a Senior Executive Editor here at XXL looks like!" Monica admired.

I smiled flattered at her compliments on my "interview" with Bryson.

None of the things I wrote were lies, but they sure were very personal and weren't given permission to be used or displayed.

"I want this to be in the next mag and posted on the ShadeRoom's website. TMZ, Bossip, E! News or any other gossip site won't have a thing on this exclusive. Sales will be going through the roof!"

"Uh-huh," was all I managed to say.

"Who knew that Bryson Tiller's baby mama was such a slutty cheater!? I knew they were separating, but this is some juicy shit. Then for him to be portrayed as this sweet heartthrob, he's beaten up an old guy in his younger days!? This is mind blowing! How did you get him to be so open with you?"

Because he trusts me and has major feelings for me and I feel the same for him; he gave me all his trust, but I'm abusing it right now.

"He's somewhat comfortable talking to me I suppose," I shrugged shyly.

"Keep it up because this is going to look great on the stands," Monica applauded.

"You're really going to publish it, huh?" I asked raising my eyebrows.

My heart began to jump out of my chest.

"Of course. What did you think? That I was going to leave it sitting on my desk to rot?"

That would be nice if you did.

"No I was--um...I'm not letting you publish without getting the job," I blackmailed her.

I took back the green folder with the printed interview inside and placed it in my lap.

Monica bit down on the corner of her mouth.

She looked in deep thought.

"All you want is the job?"

I nodded," More than anything."

"Then how about I'll do you one up? For this--because it's so exceptional--I'll put you on as the head of the entire Editorial Department. That way you won't have to listen to anyone. You'll be your own boss. With the exception of me, of course," Monica suggested with a pleasant grin.

Is she serious!?

I felt as if I had a devil and an angel on my shoulder.
