Everybody's always giving me a reason. Everybody's always telling me to go. None of them could ever feel the way I'm feeling
Jewel couldn't help but laugh as Phil tried to regain his balance on his ice skates, but fell back on his butt.
She skated up to him, helping him up, "Are you okay baby?" She intertwined their fingers, and he nodded. "I might have a bruise later but yeah, I'm fine."
They now had four days together. Phil felt like the days were going by faster, which really sucked. He wished he had more time with her..
Phil wasn't the best at ice skating, despite all the times he went ice skating with Jewel when they were teenagers. Jewel, on the other hand, was a pro at it. She can't do tricks, but she can keep her balance pretty well.
Phil watched his girlfriend as she let go of his hand, skating towards the other end of the rink. She turned and waved at him, her pony tail hitting her in the face as she turned.
Phil rolled his eyes, looking around him for a moment. He saw the wall, and slowly began to push his way over to it. He lost balance a couple times, but finally made it to the wall. He looked over at her, and she crossed her arms as she shook her head at him. He giggled, using the wall as support as he made way to her.
When he finally got to her, he smiled angelically, "I did it." He announced, and she giggled, kissing his cheek. "Yes you did sweetheart."
Jewel took the time to teach Phil the basics. It took a while, but he eventually got it. It certainly stopped him from falling every two minutes.
Jewel held onto his forearm with her hand as they skated, mostly to hold him up, and secondly because she just wanted to show he was hers.
After Phil fell three more times, they decided it was time to head home. Phil called Jewel a cab, kissing her goodnight as he opened the cab door for her. "I love you." He told her, and she smiled. "Ditto."
Once she walked into her flat, she dropped her bag to the floor, "I'm home!" She walked back into her room, stopping when she saw all the boxes and nothing but a bed a nightstand.
She completely forgot she was leaving.
She sat on her bed, looking at the photo of Phil on her nightstand. She took off her shoes, grabbed the photo and placed it on the pillow beside her. She laid down, staring up at the ceiling.
She really wasn't ready to leave Phil..
