Don't Dream It's Over

Plot: Epilogue to Treat You Better. Just a short little story I wanted to write :) Song that goes along with the story - Don't Dream It's Over by Crowded House.

"Witnesses have reported that a man by the name of Ashton Wellender has been assaulting and abusing his ex-boyfriend who will remain anonymous, as well as being involved in robberies and stalking said ex. He is now being arrested after he was spotted near the London Eye. And now, here's Jasmine with the weather." 

(A/N: Bonus!! I added myself as the weather reporter! My real name is with a Z, but whatever :D)

When Dan heard that from the TV, he wanted to cry of happiness. Ashton was finally getting what he deserved. Phil walked in right when the news reporter said those news and ran right to Dan.

"D-Dan...I can't believe it. He's finally gone. I'm free." Phil sniffled, a tear dripping down his face. Dan saw, and opened his arms for his boyfriend to settle in.

"I can't believe it too, lion." Dan replied back, stroking his back with one hand while wiping his tears with the other. "Thank you and our friends for reporting this to the police, I love you so much. You guys are amazing." Phil placed a kiss on Dan's cheek.

Dan smiled, happy to see his baby in such a state. He held him tighter. "Nothing will ever bring us apart, remember that? We're best friends, and boyfriends." Phil nodded in agreement.

Phil nuzzled more into Dan's chest as the younger boy held him with his protective arms and swayed the both of them back and forth softly.

"Even if Ashton escapes prison and tries to find me again, we know he won't win when trying to build a wall between us." Phil said in a hushed and soft tone. Dan nods his head, smiling in agreement.

"It was one of the best decisions to become best friends with you, and an even better decision was to be with you." The younger boy mumbled, snuggling the other boy laying on him.

Phil still is shaken up from everything that's happened with his ex, guaranteed, but with Dan by his side, he'll be a happier person, that's for sure.

(A/N: Sorry this is so short! I am catching up with some prompts you all have commented for me since it's summer and I get bored a lot. Hope you still enjoyed this little snippet nonetheless. I love you all, thank you for reading these, cause your support motivates me to improve my writing and to write more! Maybe an Adopted by *blank* chapter coming up even though I kinda abandoned those stories. Maybe a new story along the way with OCs based on my best friends and basically my friend groups.
