"I remember your bare feet down the hallway

I remember your little laugh

Race cars on the kitchen floor, plastic dinosaurs

Like we had our own secret club

I remember you dancing before bed time

Then jumping on me, waking me up

I can still feel you hold my hand, little man

And even the moment I knew

You fought it hard like an army guy

I walk back to the couch and Amy hugs the life outta me.

" thank you Nelly. He always loved your singing." She said and i smiled.

" anything for you. " i say and she smiles, while wiping the tears off her cheeks.

" .... Now, at this time, can all mediate family stay and can all the others wait over by the cars for us ? We are going to lower him into the ground. " the minister said and everyone nodded.

The only people that stayed was Amy, me, Lilah, Amy's brother Alec and his wife.

They started lowering him into the ground and i held Amy tight. Lilah held my hand tightly.

Once he was fully in the ground. I walked up to the hole and dropped a flower in.

" i love you buddy." I said and walked to Lilah- who was standing about 20 feet away, waiting for me.

Once i got to her, all she did was look at me and i started crying. She hugged me and i cried even more- if thats possible.

" it's okay Nelly. Shh, everything will be okay." She says combing her fingers through my hair.

" no, it never will be. Is this how it is ? Cancer took his life way ! He shouldn't have had to go through that. He was only 4 years old. 4 YEARS OLD ! its not fair ! He was way to young. And now we have to sit here and cry because of stupid cancer !" I yell in frustration.

Dad obviously heard me because he came running over to us.

" Baby girl. Shh. Stop. I know its hard, but it will get better. " he says pulling me into his chest.

I just sit there and cry.

" Nelly ?" I hear Amy's voice. She sniffled and i looked at her.

" yes ?" I say and she hands me a blue box.

I opened it and my eyes widened and i covered my mouth with my hand.

" Ryan was going to give it to you when you got back from tour. But he never got to. He stayed up all night making the picture too. So here you go. Remember. Its not from me its from him." She said and walked off to her brother.

I looked inside the box again and studied everything.

There was a picture of him and me and the same picture of me and him but he drew it. There was also a necklace that was shaped as an army guy. I took it out and there was something written o the back.

' i love you buddy ' was written on it in his handwriting.

Me and him always called each other that, all the time.

My eyes filled with tears as i held the pictures and the necklace against my chest.

" come on Nelly, lets go home. " Liam said walking over to me. I stood there. Not saying a word. I stood there and sobbed.

Soon dad walked over to me and picked me up. I cried into his chest, but he didn't seem to care.

We got in the car and drove home. When we pulled in, i was gonna go to my room but mom stopped me.

" nope. Your staying down here with me." Mum said and pulled me into the living room.

She sat on the couch and i sat on her lap and cuddled into her. Dad came in and wrapped a blanket around us and mum stroked my hair and sang softly in my ear.
