"But, though the bank was almost always with him, and though the coach (in a confused way, like the presence of pain under an opiate) was always with him, there was another current of impression that never ceased to run, all through the night. He was on his way to dig some one out of a grave."

My bedroom door flew open, only for me to see Alexa standing behind it. She peeked her head in and said "Uhm.. You do know that it's 7:40 right!" Without thought I rashly threw by book across my bed and went towards my closet.  Alexa laughed as she watched my every move, I scowled at her, her taking  it as a cue to leave. I rummaged through my closet to find something to wear. Nyla was coming in twenty minutes and I hadn't even found an outfit.

Honestly I didn't even want to go out, I would rather stay at home, with my book and my new comforter set. But, because it was Nyla, I was willing to compromise. I went into the bathroom and took a bird bath. I then went and stuffed my skin into a white over-sized sweater and black jeans. I headed towards the landscape mirror on my wall and proceeded to twist the sides of my hair and slam it into a ponytail. I grabbed my brown leather purse and my geek chic glasses. With converse on my feet I went downstairs, bid mum bye and went outside where I found Nyla in her car waiting for me.

"Hey love!" She said with a smile.

"Hey Ny!" I said a bit shyly as I got in the car. By the time we pulled out of the driveway the sun had already set. It bothered me that I was not aware of where we were headed. For all I knew we could've been going to a club or something, but I trusted that my best friend would not do something like that to me.

As we pulled into a driveway flooded with cars, Nyla turned to me with a sly look on her face.

"Now, don't get mad --" I cut her off.

"You brought me to a PARTY!" I said furiously.

"I said don't get mad, I just . . . really wanted to come to this party and I wanted to be with you!" She said giving me her puppy dog eyes.

I hated to admit it, but her big pleading eyes were working.

"Okay . . . I'll stay, but only because I would have no way to get home!" I huffed.

"Yay!" She exclaimed.

We got out of the car and walked towards the house. The nightly wind ran through her black that reached to the middle of her back. It looked shorter that it actually was, because she had it curled. The smell of alcohol oozed from the walls of the house and it only got stronger as we entered it. The sound of people rioting over powered the clicking of Nyla's wedges. We walked pass the kitchen and went to the stairs where we found Kyle.

"Hey!" He said with a smile.

"Hey babe!" Nyla blushed.

"Hi." I waved, feeling a little out of place.

"How did you get Acacia out here?" He screamed over the noise.

"I tricked her!" She said looking back at me with a smile.

"Well, welcome to the life of the party Acacia!" He joked.

"Thanks!" I said blandly.

"Wanna dance?" Kyle asked Nyla.

"Uh . . ." She said looking towards me. I shook my head to give her approval.

"Okay!" She exclaimed as he led her to the living room.
