"Girls, I have to get going to the airport."   "There's snacks in the pantry and a credit card in the drawer." Nyla's mother said as she grabbed her bags.

"Bye girls, be safe!" She said leaving the massive duplex.

     "Bye, mom!" Nyla waved.

"Where's she headed this time?"  I asked her.

"Paris, to accompany dad at his grand opening." She headed to the kitchen.  I followed.

"He's opening 'Heiress' in Paris?"  I asked rhetorically.  "Why didn't you go?" I asked as I watched her rummaging through the top black cupboard.

"Because I would rather spend the time with you . . . . and Kyle!" She said grabbing a bag  chips.

I grabbed two bottles of water out of the refrigerator and followed her up to her supersized magenta bedroom. I sat on her queen sized bed dressed in zebra print sheets.

"Chips are ready, refreshments, let the therapy session begin." She joked, putting all of the food items on the bed between us.

"Okay, I think I like him." I said.

"We've been passed that!" She crunched down on a chip.

"I mean, more than I let on." I reached for a chip out of the bag.

"Passed that too!" She rolled her eyes.

"Okay, we went to Dave and Busters!" I told her what she was dying to know.

"Really?" She froze in amazement.     "You like that type of atmosphere?" She asked with a shocked expression still on her face.

"Yeah, it was fun." I smiled.

"Fun?"    "Even after I tried to get you to go for years?" She let her mouth hang open.

"Yes, Nyla, yes!" I nodded.

We sat down and ate, all while having the best of conversation about Landon and I with a lot of moments where the conversation led off topic.

"And he taught me to play Time Crisis 5, and I beat him at Super Shot!" I laughed.    "He was so bugged. His defeat face was so cute though!" I said mocking the face he made.

"We went to the park and I met his little brother Caleb. Whom is super mature for an eleven year old, and so sweet."  I continued.      "Oh and we also went to Eman's party, which was a total disaster, because everyone gave us the death stare."       ". . . . But we did dance in the backyard alone." I rambled.

"My most favorite though was when we just sat on that hill all night." Even after two months had went by, I could still remember that day vividly.             "Something about him gives me this boost of spontaneity . . . . . and I feel happy." I breathed out.

"Sounds like you're in love." Nyla beamed.

"I'm not in love with anybody." I rejected rashly.  Who falls in love after two months of dating?

"You're right." She admitted defeat.  I exhaled relieved that she would leave it as is.

"Because you're in love with, 'that' somebody. . . . fucking Landon!" She smirked and elevated her voice.

"I think movies have gotten to your head." I rolled my eyes.

"And I think he's gotten to your heart." She scooted towards me, looking at my chest.  I could feel my emotions build up, my heart beating rapid. Whatever she was about to say was going to make me have an epiphany I was suppressing.
