"Oh No, see you walking round like there's a funeral !" My phone alarm went off. I quickly got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. With my eyes still dawned by sleep, I took my toothbrush out of its holder and put a pea size of toothpaste on it. After my regular bathroom routine, I went back to my room in my robe. My timing was perfect, just when I had reached my bedroom, my sister walked into the bathroom. I opened my drawer to get a pair underwear and then opened my closet to get my favorite grey sweatshirt. I put it on, and ran to my mom's room and grabbed her dark blue sweatpants. I slapped my hair into a simple ponytail and went down to the kitchen. "Morning. "
"Morning!" Mom said back. I sat down at the counter and ate what she had sitting there. Scrambled eggs, bacon and toast filled my stomach while I waited on my sisters to finish up, so we could leave. After about twenty minutes, we got in the car and left the house.
I got to school at 7:12. At this time barely anyone would be there, only the STEM team and the stoners. Due to the fact that I had nothing to say to the STEM team (as we only talk during STEM meetings) and I do not affiliate with stoners, I went to the library. As I walked towards the library I heard a familiar voice.
"Acacia!" The voice got louder. I turned around to see Nyla.
"Hey!" She said.
"Morning!"
"Oh sorry, yeah . . . morning!" She laughed. "Where you going?"
"To the library, the halls are not a place to be in the mornings. " I frowned.
"OH . . . of course they aren't." She said sarcastically.
We entered the library, and signed the sign-in sheet. We sat down and I took my book out of my bag. I stayed up for quite a while reading it last night, but once the clock struck 11 I decided to do what was best for my body and put the book down. I flipped it open to where I had my bookmark. As I started reading Nyla slid a note my way. I looked up at her and opened the note.
'I'm almost done with the 2001 Kaplan S.A.T book, and Daddy got me a car!' It read with badly drawn smiley faces all over it.
'Great! I know you are super happy !' I wrote.
'Yes I am, and I was wondering if my best friend would be the first I take out!' She wrote back.
'Sure.' I sent back.
'Great! We'll go out tomorrow night!' She sent.
'Great!' I wrote back.
I quickly went back to reading my book. So far, all I knew was England and France were not like Nyla and I. I suppose it was around the time of one of the Anglo-French wars, and the narrator had to struggle to get mail. Those two things weren't much but I was getting somewhere. Before I got a chance to further explore the book, the bell rang. I got up and pushed my chair in, as Nyla packed her things. When she was done, we walked towards the door. I turned my head to tell Mrs. Jenkins goodbye but instead saw Him! Our eyes met for a second and I quickly turned my head towards the door and left.
We walked to Ms. Culmer's class for Biology and quickly took our seats. As soon as the whole class entered she began teaching. The topic for the hour was genetics and the different genotypes and phenotypes. Our 90 minutes of Biology ran like Speedy Gonzalez and it was time for me to go to Spanish. This was one of the classes that Nyla and I didn't share, and just my luck the class happened to be filled with all the wrong people.
