"God should be first in all aspects of our lives." was the lesson of today's sermon. Always we should put God first in all of our endeavors, even minor things, because grocery shopping in the eyes of God is just as major as a job interview.  We exited the church and greeted these who we didn't get to during the Offering of Peace.

"Good Afternoon!" Nyla came towards us.

"Hi, Nyla!" My mother greeted her with a hug.

"Can I steal her for the rest of the day!" She asked them.

"She'll be back by eight, I promise!" She pleaded giving them extreme puppy dog eyes.

"Okay, be safe!" My father sighed.

"Thank you!"She waved and gripped my arm.

"Where are we going? I'm in church clothes!" I whined.

"What's under your alter serving robe?" She asked as we got into the car.

"A pink sundress," I answered taking off the white robe.

"Sweatpants for school and a sundress for church, you're really backwards!"

"Whatever!" I shot her down. She started the car and we drove off.

"How was church?" She asked all smiles.

"Very spiritual!" I responded.

"As per usual!" She said turning up the radio. A combination of guitar and drums played and like the  freaks we were, we knew what was to come.

"Tu, que pierdes el control. Hablando en altavoz!" We sang along with Nelly Furtado.

"Y yo, No tengo armas para enfrentarte. Pongo mis manos, manos al aire. Solo me importa amarte. En cuerpo y alma como era ayer." We bolted out.

"Watch those pronounciations now!" She said when the song was over.

"Almost up to par with you!" I boasted.

"Ay, mami esta muy caliente!" She teased.

"Como un picante!" I laughed.

It was easy to be with Nyla, she understood me and was so much fun. We could laugh and joke around, but she would never get in between me and my work. That was what I loved about her, along with a long list of other things.

"Where are we going?" I asked once again.

"Geesh you inquisitive monkey! Can you not trust me!" She whined.

"You've proven that you can not be trusted, remember the party?" I reminded her, still a little angry about that.

"No need to bring up old times!" She dodged the topic.  "Besides, we're here!" She exclaimed parking her Cadillac.

"America's Outback!" She exclaimed.

"Why?" I said phlegmatically.

"To break out and try something new!" She locked the car doors.  "Face it, you could use a little change!" She said walking towards the familiar place. I sighed heavily as we headed towards the Diner.

We entered the small white building, and looked around. It was straight out of an 80's movie, Grease to be exact. The checkerboard tiles, and blue walls were so vibrant. There was a good amount of people there, however not that many.  We took a seat and picked up the menu that sat on the table.
