They reached the surface, also known as the back of the opera house, Victoria noticed that there were a lot of carriages. 'Someone must be having a party.' she thought to herself. Her father, still holding her hand with one hand, handed her a blind fold that he was carrying in his free hand.

"put this on." he told her, giving no explanation what so ever. Victoria hesitated for a moment, then put on the blind fold.

"why do I have to wear this papa?" she asked, looping her arm through her fathers'.

"you will see soon." ( pun not intended) He lead her toward the surprise. "ready mon ange?" he asked, a smile was present in his voice. Victoria nodded anxiously. He then took off her blindfold carefully so he wouldn't pull of her mask, and there it's was. The opera house back in its former glory before the famous fire, started "mysteriously" on the night they put on the phantom's play. Victoria's eyes widened in awe. She let out a childish squeak.

"This is for me?" she smiled. Her father laughed.

"Only the best for you mon ange." he smiled kissing the top of her head. She giggled.

"Oh thank you do much papa!" She beamed and hugged him tightly. He walked her up the stairs to the event were the man at the door announced their arrival, fashionably late. Was there any other way to be? Everyone stopped in horror at that moment. Honestly how could one forget the famous red death character that Erik had during the masquerade for his show. Victoria chuckled and spoke for once, which wasn't normal for her.

"I'm sorry if we have startled you. As you can see we are quite a theatrical bunch." that drew a few chuckles from the crowd. "We would just like to take a moment to thank all of you for coming to help me celebrate my 16th birthday." she stumbled for words to conclude her little speech. "um... That is all." she blushed. Everyone resumed with their pointless chatter as Victoria and Erik made their way down the stairs. Although Victoria could help but to feel as though someone was watching her, but when she would turn around no one was there. She decided to brush it off, no need for a little paranoia to ruin her party. Victoria played around with her mask until a hand grabbed her shoulder, it spun her around, she squeaked while holding her spinning head.

"What are you doing here?!" the person yelled, Victoria crindged in fear.
