Victoria stood in the pathway frozen. Had he really just said that? She shook her head quickly, almost giving herself whiplash by accident. She held her arms out to sturdy herself.

"why would he love a monster like you? You will never be beautiful!" the voice inside her head yelled at her. Victoria sunk to the floor again, she knew they were right. She had to, they where always right. She sniffled slightly. "the village was a lie!" the voices yelled again.

"maybe Elijah was lying." Victoria whispered.

"you know it's the truth. You're too gullible." the voices argued.

"then why would papa lie to me?" Victoria questioned.

"this isn't the first time he's lied to you. What makes you think he won't do it again?" the voices words clawed at the inside of her head. It itched, like an itch that you can never scratch. She hit the side of her head, in attempt to make the voices stopped. It worked, but also made her a little dizzy. She walked down the pathways that she's had memorized since she was little, to the familiar place that was her home.

No one was home.

Victoria quickly walked to her dresser. Taking a old rag, some makeup remover that madame Giry gave her and began to scrub her face clear of all the make up. She heard footsteps coming toward, they sounded unnatural. She felt something nudge her arm. She turned around, and to her relief it was Caesar.

"oh caesar, if only you were human. Then you would understand." victoria petted the old horses nose. She didn't bother putting a mask back on, for she had no intentions on leaving for the day.

(a few hours later)

Still no one was home, but Victoria didn't mind. It gave her time to think. That was until she heard a knock on the iron gate in front entrance.

"who is it?" Victoria called, not bothering to poke her head out. A soft and innocent voice answered.

"Victoria? Is your name Victoria?

Can I talk to you? Can you come out here please... So we can speak?" the woman asked in a understanding tone.

"I saw you at the auditions. I thought I'd seen a ghost, your resemblance is striking. You have your mother's face,

her hair. I was told you died with her.

All these years have come and gone

How do I put this... ? I'm your God mom." she said pulling down her hood of the cloak she was wearing.

"State your business..." Victoria said almost sternly.

"Business?" the woman smirked playfully.

"What do you want?" Victoria blurted out.

" I want to finally meet you, something real to cling to. Leave you with the hope that you will go do all you're meant to. All I've failed to, in you, is a world of promise. We have both been kept in bondage, but you can learn from all my failures..." as the woman kept stepping towards victoria, she kept looking more and more familiar.

"I'm not supposed to talk to strangers... " Victoria looked down, stepping back.

"Or let them through the gate?"

"That either, a big risk."

"A big fence."

"A mistake."

"A new friend." Victoria hurried to open the gate and let the woman in.

"I know I mean, I've seen you dance." Victoria mumbled.
