"Did anyone follow you?" Victoria asked once she saw Elijah make his way into their hiding place outside the opera house. He shook his head and quickly pulled Victoria into a tight embrace. She beamed up at him and gave him a quick peck on the lips before pulling out of the embrace. "I have my share for the carriage ride." Victoria went to hand him an envelope with the francs in t, but Elijah gave it back to her.

"It's alright I have enough to support both of us." Elijah tucked the envelope back into the pocket in her cloak that she took it out of. "However, keep it." He whispered, afraid that someone might hear. "We might needed it." He added. Elijah put his hand to her cheek when he realized she was spacing out. "What is wrong mon amour?" He asked with a worried tone.

"He's catching on to us." She muttered. "He saw the ring and is asking questions." She explained farther. "And I keep having nightmares about things going wrong." Tears formed in her eyes. "They all revolve around him killing you, I had another one just last night. He ran into my room to check on me, I must've screamed in my sleep." Elijah held her close as she spoke. "My nightmares are getting worse Elijah. I thought that the true nightmare was living with him, but he worked his was into my dreams." She buried her face in his chest. "I'm so scared, Elijah. I don't know what to do."

"It will be alright, we only have one more day and then you'll be free." He stroked the back of her head and twirled a bit of her hair around his finger. "You are truly an inspiration, and you are braver than you think." He kissed the top of her head reassuringly and held her in silence for a few moments.

"I can't wait that long." She whispered.

"Then I'll wait with you." He whispered back, moving her head so she would look up at him.

"We can't be seen together outside of rehearsal." Victoria noted. "He has eyes all around this place." She looked around as if afraid of someone was watching them.

"Then we'll go somewhere that isn't the opera house." Elijah took both of her hands in his. "Just for today, spend the day with me outside the opera house." He continued. "It will be a much deserved break for you." He raised her hands to his lips and kissed both of them.

"What if he notices I'm gone?" Victoria asked. "Surely he'll notice if I'm gone for a few hours."

"Don't give it so much as a second thought." He gave her a knowing smirk. "I have a plan." He let go of her hands. "I'll meet you by the stables in twenty minutes." He smiled.

"Alright." She smiled, with a hint of uncertainty in her voice. "I love you."

"I love you too." He smiled back before heading off in the direction he had arrived from. "Twenty minutes!" He shouted over his shoulder as he walked.

"Hush! Someone will hear you!" She laughed after him before leaving herself.

Victoria pulled her cloak tighter around her as she walked to the stables. When she walked in she was surprised to see that none of the stable hands were around, she looked around a little more but all she found were horses and a few empty stables. She kept herself occupied mostly by petting the horses, brushing them, and giving them some hay to munch on.

"Have fun dear?" Elijah's voice startled her out of her bliss of caring for the horses. Victoria turned around and smiled at him, the horse whose mane she was brushing nuzzled her with its nose. "Looks like you made a friend." He chuckled.

"It appears so." She smiled and walked over to Elijah and held his hand. "Taken care of everything you needed to?"

"Yes." He gave a loving peck to the top of her hand that held his. "Are you ready?" He asked, she gave him a worried look but she nodded in response. "Perfect. Let's go them." He held onto her hand tighter, pulling her in the direction he had come, and getting into a carriage.

"Where are we going?" Victoria asked once Elijah got into the carriage with her. "Anywhere special?" She gave a small smirk.

"If I'm with you, any place is special." He kissed her temple as the carriage took off to its destination. "However, I will tell you where we're going now that you can't escape." He joked, resulting in Victoria jokingly punching his arm.

"Out with it." She giggled.

"We're going to have lunch with my family."
