(next morning)

Erik walked into Victoria's room, looking around as if he need to find something.

"papa?" Victoria rubbed her eyes gently, Erik froze.

"Yes?" he asked in a whisper, looking away from her.

"why didn't you tell me I had a god mother?" she asked sitting up in her bed.

"what are you talking about mon ange, go back to bed." he smiled, kissing the top of her head. Victoria lied back down, laying on her side. Erik sighed, then found what he was looking for and walked through the tunnel to go into the opera house.

(1 hour later)

"psssst Victoria!" a voice came from outside the gate. Victoria's eyes popped open. "Victoria, are you home?" the voice whispered loud enough for her to hear. Victoria slowly got out of her bed, put her dressing gown over her body, then grabbed a not used metal candle stick. She then made her way to the edge of the rocks. She almost screamed when she saw him.

"damn you Elijah! You almost gave me a heart attack!"

"someone's not a morning person." Elijah chuckled.

"What are you doing down here?!" Victoria put down the candle stick.

"I have a message for you." he held up a envelope, he also carried a basket.

"you can leave it there on the rocks and I'll come get it later. " Victoria crossed her arms over her chest.

"come on. I want to see your face when you read it." his smile fell. "I didn't mean that in a bad way, I'm sorry-"

"so you know what it says, why not tell me?" Victoria asked, trying to get him to leave.

"then it wouldn't be a surprise now would it? Now please let me in."

"why should I?" Victoria squinted her eyes.

"I thought we were friends."

"you thought wrong."

"If you don't open this gate right now..." he looked around, i'll swim under it." Elijah started to unlace his shoes and take off his socks.

"that's impossible you'll accidentally hit your head on something or possibly drown." Victoria lost her non caring tone.

"that's a risk I'm willing to make." he looked over at her. "last chance to open the gate." he smiled. Victoria quietly panicked on what to do. Let him drown, not getting into anymore trouble again, or open the gate and possibly get both of them killed by her father, metaphorically for her, but not for Elijah. "alright... Here I go." he slowly picked up his foot.

"wait..." Victoria had her eyes closed. She slowly opened them, he hadn't jumped yet. She slumped her shoulders and walked over to open the gate. She pulled one of the two levers that were there. Elijah fell into the water. "sorry wrong lever!" Victoria apologized, giggling slightly as she pulled the other lever, the gate rose. Elijah crawled over to her and onto the rocks.

"why do you even have that lever?" he coughed. Victoria shrugged. After a few seconds of silence they both busted out into laughter. Elijah, now remembering why he came there in the first place, handed Victoria the envelope.

"what's in the basket?" she asked slowly opening the envelope.

"you'll see, just read the letter." Elijah smiled. Victoria gave him a questioning glance, he motioned for her to read it. She sighed and took the letter. Her eyes moved slightly as she read the letter, her eyes then widened. Elijah then dug into the basket, pulling out to glasses and a bottle of sparkling cider.

"I got it." Victoria said monotoned. "I got a spot as a singer." her enthusiasm grew slowly.

"mmhmm." Elijah handed her a glass. She gave him a concerned look. He put his hand on his chest. "do you really think I'd give you a beverage with alcohol in it?" he fake gasped. "I'm am extremely offended Miss. Victoria Destler."

"oh be quiet." Victoria pushed his slightly as she sipped her drink.

"good isn't it?" he smiled. Victoria nodded as she gulped down the rest of her glass. "thirsty?"

"I just woke up." she reminded him.

"that would explain the dragon breath." he joked, making Victoria cover her mouth but laugh slightly. "but you still have a pretty laugh." he smiled, oh that smile, you could write songs based off that smile. There was a long slightly uncomfortable moment of silence.

"I have a question." Elijah said suddenly.

"ask away."

"why did you leave that night with out saying goodbye?" elijah asked, scooting closer to her. Victoria took a deep breath.

"um, I may have seen you on the roof, kissing some other girl." Victoria said shyly.

"oh, her." he said the word with a strong hatred.

"what, you don't like her?" Victoria asked. "you seemed to like her when you were... What's the word i'm looking for here... Drooling all over her. Drooling? Yes, thats the word, drooling." she confirmed to herself out loud.

"I was not 'drooling' on her." Elijah confirmed. "she is someone from another wealthy business that my father wants me to court so one day we'll get married and merge our business together." Elijah explained.

"so you're engaged." Victoria stated.

"no." he looked away from her as he spoke. "not yet. I want to be with the perfect girl, and I don't want us to be forced to he married out of business. I want it to be out of love." he looked into her eyes when he said the last part.

Victoria couldn't help but get lost in his eyes. She blinked a few times, her brain screaming at her to stop, before her heart would be shattered again. But if course the naive girl didn't listen. Slowly she leaned in and kissed him. He was shocked by her forwardness, but he kissed her back. After a few minutes Victoria broke the kiss.

"you should probably go before my father comes back.." she said, slightly gasping for breath. He nodded, getting up and putting the glasses into the basket. He picks up the apple cider. "that you can leave." Victoria said, he put it back on the floor.

"as you wish." he smiled. "when can I see you again?" he asked taking her hand.

"we can't meet here anymore. It's too risky. Maybe the garden behind the opera house?" Victoria suggested.

"how does noon sound to you?" he asked raising Victoria's hand to his lips and kissing it.

"it sound absolutely perfect." she blushed slightly, kissing his cheek.

"stay beautiful." he said as he let go.

"stay charming." she smiled as she watched him disappear into one of the tunnels.
