"w-w-what do you mean?" Victoria stuttered. Christine placed a hand in her daughters shoulder.
"what's the last thing you remember sweet heart?" she asked. Victoria thought back.
"I was with papa, and he was upset, he told me how father (Raoul) had brought me to him, and how I had a life before I was with him. And how I had a mother. Then I felt really dizzy and everything went black.... What happened after that?" she looked up at Christine hoping that she had some clue.
"well Erik, your father, brought you hear to us. But he left without a word, which was odd. On the other hand, we called in a doctor, to see what was going on." Christine took a breath. "he said you have a frail heart."
"what does that mean?" Victoria asked, breathing heavily. She placed her hand over her chest. Christine placed her hands on Victoria's shoulder to calm her down.
"it means if you overwhelm your heart, the results could be disastrous. Also it means you must be cautious about what you do, Victoria. You need to stay home." Christine explained. Victoria sighed and slowly sat back up.
"but mother, I'm sixteen. I can take care of myself, I want to go ba-" Victoria started.
"go back where? To your fathers? Victoria don't be stupid, he doesn't love you. He's selfish for keeping you locked away. What if you were to faint and we were no where to be found." Raoul stepped into the room. Christine turned around sharply.
"Raoul, noes not the time. Leave, she's not well." She snapped. A few tears rolled down Victoria's cheek.
"why should I? She needs to hear this, Victoria, your father is nothing more than a filthy rotten liar!" Raoul sneered. Victoria jumped out of her bed, running up to Raoul with a new found strength. She pinned him against the wall and grabbed the closet thing to her. A little dagger off of a statue. She pointed it at his neck, her eyes darkening with anger.
"say that again! I dare you!" she yelled getting in his face. Raoul pinned her to the wall.
"filthy. Rotten. Lair." he hissed. "and you're no different, you little snake."
"Raoul! That's enough!" Christine tried reasoning with both of them but it didn't work.
"snake?" she scoffed. "you'd be surprised father dear, on how snake like I can be." She squirmed her way out of his grasp, grabbing him by the back of his neck and slamming his head onto the night stand. She looked back at Christine, she looked horrified.
"you're a monster... What happened to you?" Christine whispered, covering her mouth with her hand. Victoria smiled wickedly.
"I was born." and with that Victoria was gone.
