Victoria blinked a few times, just in order to cope with the fact that, THAT just happened. Her first kiss, probably her last too. Then Jamie pulled in her skirt, making Victoria come out of her thoughts.
"ooooh, you just got kissed by the bosses son! He's almost the richest man in paris." Jamie smiled brightly.
"I highly doubt that and what do you mean? He works at the stables of the opera house as a stable boy." Victoria asked. Jamie looked at her confused.
"no, his father owns this building. He's filthy rich." Jamie said, quite satisfied with herself. Victoria pursed her lips in thought, but was interrupted by the grumble of her stomach. Right, dinner's almost ready. Victoria thought to herself.
"well we should get going, if we want to eat." Victoria smiled at her little friend.
"not looking like that you aren't." Jamie giggled. Victoria turned her head to the side.
"what do you mean? What's wrong with the way I look?" Victoria asked.
"first of all your dress is torn on the bottom, second your bodice looks as if it's about to burst, and your covered in mud." Jamie critiqued.
"and how do you suppose I fix that?" Victoria lowered herself so her eyes met Jamie's. Jamie took her hand with a sigh.
"must I tell you everything!" she began to lead Victoria out the door. "follow me." Victoria followed her friend through the crowded hallways. There was this large room with a door, on the door it said bathing room. Jamie handed Victoria a dressing robe and shooed her in following behind her. The room was empty but filled with bathtubs, that are nicely kept. Jamie filled the tub with water and bubbles. Then turned to let Victoria change out of her dress and slip into the tub. "feel better?" Jamie chuckled.
"very much thank you." Victoria smiled. She grabbed a bar of soap and began to scrub her legs and feet. She felt Jamie play with her hair. She loved it when people played with her hair.
"can I wash your hair?" Jamie asked shyly.
"I don't see why not." Victoria smiled lifting her head so her now wet hair could hang of the front of the tub.
"thank you." Jamie then began to wash Victoria's hair, rubbing in soap and then running her fingers through the knots, due to her lack of having a brush. Jamie then started to softly sing to herself. She had great potential
"can you sing for me, ma petite fleur?" Victoria asked, there was silence for a few seconds.
"what would you like me to sing?" Jamie asked, rinsing Victoria's hair again.
"what ever you wish." Victoria smiled as she picked at the dirt under her finger nails. Jamie took a breath in and then began.
I have a dream
a song to sing
to help me cope
with anything
if you see the wonder
of a fairy tale
you can take the future
even if you fail
I believe in angels
something good in
everything I see
I believe in angels
when I know the time
is right for me
I'll cross the stream
I have a dream
I have a dream
a fantasy
to help me through
reality
and my destination
makes it worth the while
pushing through the darkness
still another mile
I believe in angels
something good in
everything I see
I believe in angels
when I know the time
is right for me
I'll cross the stream
I have a dream.
The smiled softly as Victoria clapped. Jamie was defiantly an alto at best.
"that was beautiful ma petite fleur." Victoria smiled.
"do you sing?" Jamie asked ringing out Victoria's hair. Victoria shook her head as she started to had the distorted part of her face.
"I don't sing any more." Victoria mused. Jamie whimpered.
"please?" Jamie begged. "no ones here, they won't hear you." Victoria sighed.
"fine. But first I would like to get out of this tub and into a dress please." Victoria laughed softly.
