A hand grabbed Victoria, dragging her out of site. No one noticed, or so she thought. Victoria tried to scream but the other hand covered her mouth. Victoria bit the persons finger. "why are you here?" Victoria cried, memories seeping back into her mind. The person slapped her.
"you mother wants you."
"what do you mean, I never had a mother just my father raised me.... And you! You were a horrible 'father' beating me, yelling at me all because I was not your child! Now tell me, why are you here?!" she yelled.
"I am here because I am still a Parton at this ridiculous opera house." suddenly Victoria remembered who this person was, it was Raoul. He grabbed Victoria wrist. Someone grabbed Raoul's.
"I think you've done enough vicomte." it was a boy around 18 at least. Raoul gave him a nasty look, but backed away honorably. The boy looked at Victoria. "are you alright mademoiselle?" he smiled kindly from under his mask. Victoria nodded.
"yes, very much so. Thank you monsuier." she smiled back. He nodded.
"you're very welcome." He bowed and left to farther enjoy the party.
"wait! Monsuier, what is your name, if I may ask?" Victoria blushed under her mask. The boy stopped and turned around.
"I am Elijah Thompson, and you?" he kissed her hand, making her blush even more.
"Victoria Destler." she awkwardly curtsied. Elijah smiled again.
"so this is your party huh?" he laughed lightly. Victoria nodded slightly. "16, right?" he asked. Victoria nodded again. "well it was nice meeting you Victoria. I'll let you get back to your party."
"you're not staying?" Victoria frowned.
"I have matters to attend to, I was here the first half, sadly I had to meet you as soon as I had to leave." he smirked, leaving her with that last sentence bouncing around in her head. She smiled and made her way back to the party. When suddenly her father took her hand. He bowed honorably.
"may I have this dance?" he asked with a smile. Victoria curtsied and giggled.
"why of course you may." she giggled as he took her to the dance floor. As they did so, a familiar figure caught Victoria's attention.
