Chapter Ten: The Cocky Slytherin Guy

Colette's Point Of View

A few more weeks passed, and everything is still going pretty great. Potions is still boring, Fred and George are still entertaining, Hermione is still studying, Harry's still being totally awesome and Ron is still eating. Plus there hadn't been any mishaps or run in's with anybody we wouldn't have wanted to. And before we knew it, we had landed at the eve of the Halloween feast. George and I were walking along the corridor from Transfiguration, just minding our own business and laughing about some random stuff when a guy looking Harry's age with almost ice white hair and a devil stare appeared in front of us with two back-ups like looked like brick walls with green and silver ties. Aha, Slytherins! "So you're this amazing Colette girl Potter and his mates seem to talk about all the time?" He said in a very snobby and upper class tone,

"Yeah, I am. Now could you move and let us through?" I said. I want my lunch, man,

"I think not. You want to learn some manners. You not been teaching her Weasel?"

"Leave him alone."

"Oh, protective are we? Girlfriend is she Weasel?"

"I told you to leave him alone!" I retaliated.I have a tensity to do that,

"Feisty one you are. I'm Draco Malfoy." He said and stuck his hand out. I looked at it and curled my lip a little. He took his hand back and looked very offended, "What are you then?" He asked sharply. I froze at that. What does he mean what am I?

"Human ... ?" I asked more than told,

"Stupid." He tutted and didn't bother to be discrete, "Don't play games with me. What are you?" He asked again, sneering at me. Alright, I'm stumped. No clue what he's talking about. Time to phone a friend,

"Hey... George?" I whispered through the corner of my mouth so Draco shouldn't be able to hear or notice,

"Y-yeah?" He whispered back,

"What does he mean?"

"What do you mean what does he mean?"

"Exactly that."

"I think he means what your blood status is."

"Erm ... George?"

"Lottie?"

"I don't know what my blood status is." I looked up at George with a worried look and he looked deep in thought,

"She's half blood." He declared after a few seconds.

"Really? Why couldn't she answer herself?"

"Because I didn't. Your point? Shocked George knows how to talk?!" I said, stepping up in front of George.

"Ohh ... You're brave for a half blood. You know, you could make it far if you didn't hang out with Weasel and his family, along with Potter and his mudblood girlfriend."

"Hey!" I shouted, "Don't you talk about people like that!"

"I'll do as I want!" He spat back,

"Fine! What other problems do you have, besides been stuck up, a moron and the rudest guy I've ever laid eyes upon?" I said and folded my arms. George started laughing silently beside me and I raised my eyebrows at him. I looked back to Malfoy and he still looked a little taken-back by how I just randomly insulted him. I'm good at that too,

"You know, you really could get on much better if you didn't hang out with this filth and stuck with somebody who has quality." He said and flicked his hair,

"Please. You've got as much quality as a dead hamster." I said and rolled my eyes. George looked like he was about to explode if he didn't laugh it out soon so I decided to try and end it there before I killed my best friend, "You going to move then?"

"No. I think I'm fine here."

"It wasn't a request." I told him and prodded his shoulder with my finger. He looked taken aback for a few seconds before an evil grin appeared, "See you around, Colette." He smirked before walking off down the hall with his mates following,

"The only place I'm gonna see you is in Hell!" I shouted after him,

"Miss Colette." Came a droning voice from behind me,

"Yes... sir?" I said turning around slowly,

"I believe you should get yourself and Mr Weasley to lunch before you pick a fight with any of the Slytherin students."

"B-but..." I said astonished. He's always being nice to me since I started here! What the heck?!

"Well, we were leaving anyway." George said and grabbed my hand, dragging me along the hall,

"What was that for?" I asked him as he dragged me, "I was about to tell him about Malfoy and exactly what he deserved."

"Yeah, And I just saved your ass for that." He said, stopping and letting me catch up so I could walk along side him, "If you'd told Snape what you were thinking, you'd have been in a ton of trouble."

"How do you know what I was thinking?"

"It's easy. Read your face."

"You've known me for about two months! How have you learned that?!"

"You told me one time." He said and smirked,

"Did I?" I asked, and then it came to me. "Oh yeah! The night we went walking."

"Yeah. But that's changing subject. You shouldn't do that to Draco. Even if it was pretty funny." He grinned and I rolled my eyes smiling, "The only people you should be punching is me, Fred and Ron. Lightly."

"Thanks!" I said and punched him on the shoulder. He gaped at me and rubbed his shoulder. I laughed, "Child." I said as he let go of his shoulder and smirked,

"You're no better." he said and I gasped, "But you're off subject again Lottie! If you had said anything too nasty to Draco, you'd be in so much trouble. He thinks he's amazing, and Snape loves him! If you said anymore, you'd be digging a hole to Australia."

"Thanks for the geography lesson. Now, if you're done, I'm going to eat." I told him and ran off into the hall towards the trio and Fred. "Hey guys!" I said, sitting next to Fred,

"S'up Lottie? Good time with McGonagall?" He asked and I looked at him confused, "Or was Georgie more fun?"

"Fred, shut up." I said hitting his shoulder, "When's dinner?"

"Now." He said, opening his hands and seconds later the food appeared.

"You're good."

"I know." He smirked. George sat down next to me and thumped my shoulder lightly,

"What was that for?"

"You left me!" He defended, sounding hurt,

"Oh yeah I did." I laughed and grab some bread from in front of me. George pouted and folded his arms, "Ok George. I am sorry I left you."

"Good." He said and started filling his plate,

"Oh yeah. Guys, whats a half blood?"

"A half blood?" Ron asked,

"A half blood is--" Hermione began,

"A half blood is someone with one wizard parent and one either muggle or muggle born parent." We all looked up and saw Professor Lupin stood behind us,

"Oh. Thank you." I said to him. He smiled,

"You're a half blood Colette. Did you know?" He asked before walking away. I frowned from this random light shedding information from a random teacher before I turned around and looked at George,

"Man, you are good." I told him,

"Thought I was good!" Fred whined from my left,

"Yeah, but he's better."

"Favouritism!" Harry shouted and made everyone laughed,

"No, no. No favouritism. It's just we ran into that Malfoy you were talking about the other day and he was asking. And George sort of declared me a half-blood and I was just wondering why and what it was." I looked at George thinking he was going to explain why he chose half-blood. But no. He just kept on eating, "You keep eating then. I don't really care anyway." I mumbled sarcastically and he smirked,

"So you're a half-blood then?" Hermione asked, "Well, that's what Lupin said."

"I dunno. But all these professors know me backwards and forwards since they seem to know everything, including ins and outs of the past and all about my

mother so... I suppose."

"What about your mother?" Fred asked. Crap. Okay, so I hadn't told them yet. I kinda forgot. I know you're thinking. How did I forget to tell them about that? But in my defense, I can't remember what happened yesterday, so it works. Don't judge,

"Okay, do you really want to discuss this over dinner?"

"Yes. I want to know too." Harry said.

"Can you guys wait until the common room?" George spoke up,

"You know?" Fred asked, looking at George and then to me, giving me a look showing he was little hurt,

"She only just told me. She said something related with it and being your twin, I was nosey like you just were and asked about it." He said. Fred nodded and smiled at me before going back to eating his dinner,

"Thanks Georgie boy." I whispered to him,

"Anytime."
