Chapter Thirteen: Defence Against My Memory
Colette's Point Of View
The next few days were pretty quiet. Just everyone getting back to normal after Dumbledore made us sleep in the Great Hall and Sirius Black and all the rest of it. The Fat Lady had been replaced by some guy on a horse. And Merlin he's the most annoying person I have ever had the grace to know. And today it's a week and one day until before the first Quidditch match of the year. And no matter how much Fred and George ramble on about it, I've still got no clue what they are talking about. So I gave up asking and just decided to agree with them, then wait and see what goes off on Saturday, "And then you just catch the snitch and Gryffindor wins!" George concluded as we made it to Defence Against the Dark Arts,
"Yep, wonderful." I said as I walked into the classroom. There was a handful of people already gathered in the room and Lupin silenced the class as we sat down. I took my usual place next to Katie and smiled at her. She gave me a tiny wave and people were now starting to file into the room. I felt something hit my back and I turned around to look at the twins,
'What?' I mouthed to them,
'Hello.' Mouthed George and Fred waved to me. I shook my head at them and they grinned as I turned around again. Lupin was standing at the front of the room in his usual worn-out jacket and shabby looking trousers, but still with a bright smile as he looked his class over and clapped his hands to gain our attention,
"Ok then kids! No need for your books today.!We're going to do a practical to lighten the mood around here, so if you'd like to follow me!" He annocued and then waved his hands towards the dor. We all got up and followed Lupin out of the room. Most of the class shared the same confused but interested expression as we walked along the corridor to wherever Lupin was taking us. It only took a few minutes to get to the room. Lupin opened the door to reveal a wardrobe which was moving around a little. I looked at Fred and George and Fred shrugged whilst George gave me a funny look,
"Come in, Come in!" Lupin said as everyone scurried into the room. We gathered around the wardrobe and it jolted in a disturbing kind of way. A bit like it was alive, "Ok then! So does anyone know what's in here?" Lupin asked the class,
"Is it a boggart sir?" Shouted one of the Hufflepuff boys at the other side of the room,
"Correct!"
"Hey, George?" I whispered,
"Yeah?" He said, leaning his chin on my shoulder,
"What's a boggart?"
"Now can anyone told me what a boggart is?" asked Lupin as he looked around the room at everyone. I smiled to myself and shrugged George off my shoulder, looking up at him,
"A boggart is a shape-shifting creature that takes on the form of the viewer's worst fear." explained another Hufflepuff with her hand still raised. George tried to mouthed out every word the Hufflepuff said which caused me to laugh a little. I shook my head and George lent on my shoulder again,
"And that's what a boggart is." He whispered right in my ear. I shuddered and shrugged him off,
"Don't do that." I told him quietly,
"Why?" He asked, sounding only a little bit hurt,
"It's ... creepy." I told him and went back to listening to Lupin.
