Chapter Nineteen: One More Shot And I'll Ace It

Colette's Point Of View

I walked away from the common room and wondered where to go. I didn't have my robe on and I didn't think me in a jumper and a skirt would keep me too warm, so outside is out. Literally. I couldn't go back to the common room, not yet anyway. I didn't particularly want to go see anyone, but I ended up making my way to Defence against the Dark Arts for a conversation with Lupin, "Why are you here Colette?" He asked me as we sat down in his office, "It's Christmas eve. Shouldn't you be spending it with Fred and George?"

"Don't speak his name." I said, taking a sip of tea from the mug Lupin had given me,

"Is that why you're so distance in my classes Colette? Is there problems?"

"He's the problem." I scoffed,

"But you know you wouldn't want him any other way." Lupin said matter-of-factly,

"... Maybe." I said and gulped some more tea. Lupin smiled and spun on his chair a little,

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked me,

"No. I'm done with the talking. I'm done with everything." I said and put my mug on the desk, "I'm done with him."

"Now come on Colette." Lupin said, "I might not be a very good mentor, but I can certainly tell what you two have is something unique. That day on the train, it was hard to believe he wasn't your sibling or something."

"He'd only know me one day." I said half-heartedly,

"Exactly. It's not hard to see you two are the best of friends. You, Fred and George are every ones nightmare." he said with a smirk,

"But they don't prank like they used to." I said. "I heard Ron telling Harry it's all been about me." I said with a sigh,

"Maybe they don't want to drag you into too much trouble." Lupin suggested. I shrugged,

"I don't care for the trouble. I just wish we could be like we were. I don't find any of this amusing anymore." I sighed and looked at the floor. Lupin nodded and I could see him looking at me out of my eye corner when an idea struck me, "Hey Lupin?" I asked as I looked up,

"Colette?" He said, snapping out his trance,

"Do you think I could give that boggart another shot?"

"Now you're sure about this?" Lupin asked me for the third time. I nodded and pointed my wand at the chest in front of me as Lupin unlocked it and took a step backwards, wand still half raised. The chest wobbled and opened slowly. I gripped my wand and squinted as the same wolf from before emerged from the chest. It stood up and seemed to be five times my size. I stared up at it, sweating like mad and my hands shaking slightly. It growled and stepped forward as I whimpered and stepped backwards, "Come on Colette." I heard Lupin almost whisper from beside me as I kept taking small steps backwards. I must have almost being at the back of the classroom when I had a sudden burst of courage. I put my right foot forward and gripped my wand even more. The boggart still progressed closer. It's now or never I suppose. I held up my wand and shouted,
