Chapter Twelve: Learning More On A Campout
George's Point Of View
I stood up and walked away from Lottie, deep in thought. So yeah, maybe that dog wasn't going to hurt her, but what if it did? If she got hurt I'd feel complete awful about it. I had stood watching them for a few minutes and if that dog had attacked, I could probably have stopped it and saves Lottie if I had gone out sooner. But it seems luck is on my side. For now. I quickly swerved to the left to continue towards the kitchens. I had lost some sense of surroundings whilst I was thinking. Damn, I'd have been walking all over the place. Bet Lottie saw me. Oh, screw it! "Oi George!" Lee called from my right and I stopped, looking towards the place his voice came from. Isaw a hand and an apple appear from outside the portrait and he waved me over. I took my hands out of my pockets and walked towards him. I jumped inside the portrait and Fred was also in the kitchens, sitting on a stool and chewing on something. One of the house elves came running towards me asking me what I wanted. I wasn't that hungry now so I told her I didn't want anything and she rushed away again. I plodded over to Fred and slumped against the wall,
"S'up?" He asked me through a mouthful of apple,
"Girls." I mumbled,
"What's up with Lottie now?" He asked and swallowed,
"I never said anything about Lottie." I defended and Fred rolls his eyes,
"Sorry I forgot." He said sarcastically, "What's wrong with girls?" He said,
"They're horrid creatures." I mumbled and fell against the wall, sitting on the floor with my feet propped up, "I was only helping."
"Yeah but helping a girl," Fred began and sat next to me, "Is like trying to do your potions homework. In the rain. With your left hand." He said and grinned a little. I couldn't help but smirk at the randomness of the sentence but sighed afterwards, "Dude, be a dude." Fred said standing up, "Go find her. Talk to her. Mushy mushy." He said and rolled his arms in circles and rocked his head,
"It's not that simple." I said pulling myself up,
"'Course it is!" He said, "You just gotta 'understand'." He said and put quote marks around understand. I grinned a little and rolled my eyes,
"Trust you." I mumbled and Fred laughed,
"And I trust you too! Now come on, she's probably still waiting!" He said. I went to say something but was cut off by him dragging me out of the kitchen, past Lee and down the corridors. I tripped out of the portrait and Fred was already walking down the corridor. "Where was she?" I heard him shout. I smiled and shook my head, jogging to catch him up.
"Somewhere around here," I said as we turned a corner and Lee caught us up, "She was against a wall." I told them and scanned around the corridor. We looked behind statues, tapestries, tables and portraits but found nothing that could lead us to her. We were like a pack of erm ... detectives is it? Looking everywhere for any little thing. Lee though he found a clip belonging to her to which I laughed and told him she doesn't own clips. He gave me a weird look before searching again and I mentally slapped myself. Idiotic thing to do there. I looked to Fred and he was giving me the look. I shook my head but he nodded and I shook my head more. He just nodded at the same speed until I nodded once. His face twisted into a grin and he clapped his hands,
