Ashton and I walked down the hallway, shoving each other over some joke as we made our way to the bus circle.

"So, how'd you do on the AP Biology quiz?" Ashton slipped his unusually long thumbs under his backpack straps resting on his shoulder. I shrugged.

"I dunno. A 98, 99?"

"100%." Ashton grinned.

"Wait, she put them in?" I always second guessed myself when it came to taking quizzes or tests even though I knew the material pretty well.

I whipped out my phone, tapping on the app we used for grading. As we took or seats at the front of the bus, I went into my AP Biology class to see my grade.

"100%!" I cheered just as Luke Hemmings walked into the bus followed by Michael Clifford. Luke grumbled to himself something about us being nerds while Michael put his hand for a high five; which I gladly accepted.

"Great job!" He grinned as he walked down the hall. I giggled and looked back over at my best friend, Ashton.

Michael was another one of my friends that I met in my freshman year art class. He was openly gay and always wore something pastel and a matching flower crown on top of his pastel dyed hair. Everyone was really accepting of him and I thought it was awesome that he could be himself without having to deal with any crap.

"So, my house or your house today?" Ashton and I lived next door to each other and went to each other's houses after school. I remembered that my sister went back to college and both of my parents we going to be home late today.

"Can we go to your place? My parents won't be home till late and I don't feel like being home alone for a bazillion years."

"Of course!" Ashton beamed. "Besides, it's impossible for you to be home alone for a bazillion years. Your parents would have to be dead and you'd have to be immortal or something."

I rolled my eyes with a grin and slipped my other ear bud in.
