"Y/N is in the building!" You cried as you opened the door to your best friend's home. The two of you decided to watch State of Origin together and make a night of it. It was always fun watching State of Origin with her because the two of you went for different teams; she went for New South Wales and you went for Queensland. You walked into the living room and spotted your best friend in the kitchen, which was open to the living room area. Looking over at the sofa you saw her boyfriend Luke sprawled across it and nearly had a heart attack.

"Luke! You're back!" You cried in shock. You knew that Luke and his band were all on tour with One Direction and so you were surprised to see him in your best friend's living room.

"Yeah, we're here for a few weeks," he explained and you nodded before looking up as someone else walked into the room. You didn't hold back the groan that escaped your lips as Calum fell back on to the couch with Luke.

"Why's he here?" You asked and Calum scrunched up his nose. When the two of you had first met things were okay but somewhere along the line your relationship turned into rude comments and a mutual dislike for each other. Well, you led on that you didn't like him when secretly you'd had a thing for him for a while now. No one knew though except for your best friend who was looking at you from where she stood by the bench with a smirk.

"I could say the same about you," Calum retorted and you folded your arms across your chest.

"Y/B/F/N is my best friend," you said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, which technically it was. He mocked you by folding his arms across his chest as well.

"And Luke's mine," he said and you narrowed your eyes, falling back into a one seater.

"Nuh-uh," your best friend shook her head when you sat down and you raised an eyebrow. "Queensland supporters on that side of the room and New South Wales supporters on the other side," she said and you sighed.

"Great, I'm going to be by myself then," you said and Y/B/F/N just smirked, walking over and sitting next to Luke on the "New South Wales side". Moving to the two seater couch you looked up to see Calum plop himself down next to you and you raised your eyebrows. "Queensland?" You asked and he nodded. The game started soon after with Queensland in the lead and every time they scored you and Calum would share a high five which led to full on cheers and jumping around as the game continued on. You found it strange how you and Calum had suddenly bonded on something as silly as football but you weren't complaining; you secretly loved every second of it. Queensland was the last to score until the game ended and you and Calum jumped up on to the couch, cheering and high fiving and laughing.

"Suck my dick," your best friend smirked as she stood up, taking the now empty pizza boxes to the bin. You laughed as Calum jumped off the sofa, offering his hand to help you down and with a smile you took it, stepping down from the couch. You blushed as before he let go of your hand his thumb ran across the back of your hand and when you looked up at him you saw he was looking somewhere else.

"Well I better get home," you said and your best friend booed causing you to laugh as you hugged her goodbye.

"Same," Calum said quietly, hugging your best friend goodbye as you hugged Luke goodbye. The two of you walked out of her home and you closed the door behind the two of you but not before noticing Luke and your best friend share a high five, causing you to wonder if this had all been their plan.

"That was fun," you said as you and Calum walked away from their house and over to where your cars were parked.

"Yeah...we should do that again sometime. Well, just you and me," he said and you frowned in confusion.

"What, watch football?" You asked and he laughed, shaking his head.

"No go out sometime, like on a date," he finished quietly and you grinned.

"When were you thinking?" You asked and he shrugged.

"I'm not doing anything tomorrow..." he smirked and you laughed, nudging him slightly with your elbow.

"Someone's keen," you teased and he poked his tongue out at you. "Tomorrow's great. Call me whenever," you said and he nodded, grinning. He hugged you goodbye and you smiled before hopping into your car and driving off, very happy with the turn of events of the night.
