His dad pulled up infront of Pj's house at precisely seven o'clock in his white Mercedes GLE SUV. With being an agent, Phil's dad was supplied with a new, fancy car every six months. Meanwhile, Pj's dad owned the same car but it was in black.

Phil tagged behind his dad as they walked up the pebbled driveway, and up the stone steps to the Liguori household's red front door.

After four knocks, Pj's mum opened the door, smiling brightly at the two of them, "Hiya!" She says cheerfully.

Phil's dad greets Mrs Liguori with a warming hug before heading into the living room to meet up with Mr Liguori, probably to talk about work stuff. When it comes to Phil, she just smiled at him before saying, "Pj's in his room if you want to go see him."

Phil noded before climbing up the stairs and towards Pj's room, opening the door to see Pj sprawled on his bed, staring at the TV on the opposite wall frantically pressing buttons on his x-box controller, "DIE! DIE YOU BASTARD!"

"And hi to you too Pj," Phil said with a laugh as Pj looked over at Phil who was leaning in the doorway.

"Oh hey Phil," Pj smiled and leaned over and grabbed his other remote control, turned it on, and threw it to Phil, which he catched, "Here you go."

"What we playin'" phil asked as he sat next to Pj on the end of his bed, "Dead or Alive 5? Pj! You know I'm bad at this game!"

"Well i'm not either so you're going to play it anyway," Pj said as he started a new game with just the two of them.

"So how's the media project with Dan?" Pj asked a couple minutes later, saying it as if it was nothing.

"Wait how'd you know about that...?" Phil asked. Only Joe out of their friendship group knew about the pairing and that was only because Joe was in that class.

"Alfie told me in Science. Said it was a shame that a 'happy, sun-like person like you was partnered with such a dark miserable person'" Pj quoted, not taking his eyes off the screen as he proceeded to shoot and kill Phil's character.

"Dan's not - SHIT -" Phil swore loudly causing Pj to burst into uncontrollable laughter since Phil didn't swear often, "I mean... Dan isn't that bad. He's actually really nice."

"Apparently he yelled at you too," Pj continued.

"Well - yeah - but I was forcing him -"

"You? Forcing someone?" Pj queried, "You couldn't force a chicken to get out of a paper bag, let alone -"

"Yeah yeah I get it," Phil rolls his eyes with impatience.

"At least you'll get an amazing grade though," Pj said with a smile, "I mean, Dan aces every assignment he is given."

Phil shrugged, "I guess so. I'm just excited to get to know him better. Find out about his life."

"I'd say it's pretty boring and the only way it has ever got excited was the fact he had a super rare near death experience with a ghoul."

Phil rolled his eyes, "You just need to get to know him better. We all do. We don't really know him very well..."

"Well, no offence Phil, I'd rather not know him very well. Because if we do, I might actually become friends with him -"

"What's the harm in that? Being friends with him is good!..."

"Yeah, but think about it a second," Pj says, pausing the game and turning to face Phil, "Dan survived a ghoul attack, yeah? So what's to say the ghoul who did it won't attack him again and actually kill him this time? I, personally, don't want to get to know him so that when that event does happen, I won't be so upset about it."

"But it might not happen. In fact, the ghoul who did it has probably forgot about Dan and is busy another side of the city killing someone else," Phil sighs. He shakes his head, "You're just overreacting Pj. I'm getting to know and becoming friends with Dan, and so is Connor. I don't get why you can't -"

"It's nothing personal Phil-"

"I just want you to try. Please Pj?"

Rolling his eyes, Pj sighed, "Be glad I'm your best friend Phil. Over-wise I wouldn't have given in so easily."

They played Dead or Alive for another ten minutes after dropping the subject of Dan before they were both called to the 'dinner'.

The dinner was... interesting. Phil was pretty sure the only reason his dad accepted to have this meal with Pj's family was because a) free food, b) work talk with Pj's dad or c) get Phil out the house after his intense thinking session about his mothers death.

As much as Phil hated to admit, he'd rather have had an out-of-date takeaway Chinese meal.

Pj's mom could not cook.

After finishing the meal, Phil's dad was hasty to get him and his son out of the house. As soon as they were in the car, his dad spoke up, "Well that was disgusting."

Phil laughed, "Yeah..."

His dad turned to him, "Fancy McDonalds?"

"Is that even a question?"
