Lee is never at home anymore, with this new job he had been given. With my surgeries and treatments rapidly becoming more expensive, Lee is having to work so many more hours just to get the amount of money we need. He says he enjoys this job and I believe him, even though I can see he doesn't like the long hours he is doing just because of me being a total mess.
I'm trying my best to look after both myself and Phil... but it's a lot harder than I thought it would be when I first began the challenge; it's making me so tired and weak. I have to try though. I have to do this for Phil if not for myself. He's my son after all and I have to be there for him. Otherwise, who will be there to hive him the love he so cherishes if his dad is always out earning money for the family to cope?
Dan turned through the pages of Phil's moms diary. The book was filled with emotion and explained what Phil's mom had to go through whilst she battled cancer.
"It's an interesting and emotional read isn't it?" Phil commented suddenly as he looked towards Dan from where he was lying parallel. He had been watching Dan get absorbed into the world of his mom back in 2006. With having read the book so many times to know most of the details, he could tell where Dan was up to by the pattern of his facial expressions.
Dan chucked as he closed the book too and traced the wording on its front cover with his index finger, "Yeah... it is. It goes to show how strong and powerful your mom really was."
Phil face showed a weak smile as he passed the book back to Phil who then put it on his bedside table under his iPhone 7 (his dad had brought it him in her black when they came out. Phil loves it despite the headphone issue but didn't really care too much since he already owned multiple pairs of wireless headphones). Phil proceeded onto wrapped one of his arms around Dan's torso, as the two of them snuggled together and lay sideways.
Dan relaxed into Phil's grip and almost fell asleep due to the comfort they had and warmth they both shared until he heard his phone vibrating from the other side of the room. Phil groaned, "Do you have to go get that?"
Nodding, Dan got up, "It might be important. It could be my mom."
Phil snorted at the remark not believing it for even a second as Dan covered his mouth to hide his incoming yawn and picked up his phone, looking at the screen.
Incoming call
Connor 🌈
Dan looked over towards Phil, "It's Connor."
Sliding across the bar on his phone, Dan put the phone to his his ear and he rested his weight on the desk besides him, "Hey Connor."
"Hey Dan! Wanna go hunting with me and Termika?"
Dan paused, "Err... actually Connor, I'm with Phil right now because of family issues which have occured," Dan looked back towards Phil, "So I can't go tonight. But you and Termika have fun-"
The phone was suddenly pulled out of Dan's grip and Dan instantly glared at Phil who was now holding it, "PHIL!"
"Dan'll go," Phil said into the phones speaker, the entire time making eye contact with Dan as he gawped, "And he'll be there as soon as he can. See you Connor!" and then he ended the call.
"PHIL!"
"It's best you go Dan," Phil sighed as he walked towards his boyfriend and held both his hands and looked at them, "Yes I may not want you to go either, but here there is nothing for you to ear without you throwing up. Go meet Connor and Termika and I'll be right here when you get back."
