"Is that you Dan?" Those were the words Dan was 'greeted' with as he entered his home, and the tone of his moms voice was not a happy one.

"Yes..."

"Well come into the living room now. I need to speak with you immediately."

Looking down at his outfit, now in the light of his hallway, Dan could see what Phil meant about the clothes he was wearing showing he was severely injured.

"I just have to put something up in my room!" Dan called to his mom, "I'll be five minutes tops!"

He scrambled upstairs quickly as he heard his mom mumble something about him being "in a mood" or that this "was typical of Dan to do". Completely ignoring her however, he raced into his room and slammed the door close, making the jacket he had ballanced on the handle a while ago fall onto the floor.

"Same," Dan mumbled towards his jacket's helpless pile which he knee for certain he wouldn't be picking up any time soon.

Pulling off his t-shirt, he squeezed his eyes closed as the blood stained top peeled away from his skin. It ached like a bitch, but Dan bit his lip to stop him yelping out in agony. Turning his back to the mirror and looking over his shoulder, he could see the deep wounds in his back. He cringed at the look of the wound and as he put his hand on it, not only did it really sting, but more fresh blood made itself present on his hand. It was still weeping

Moving towards his door, Dan made his way to the family bathroom, slipping across the landing as quietly as he could to not disturb his brother who he assumed was in his room, probably playing with Mr. Roar peaceful.

Rummaging around the cabinet above the sink, Dan was able to find some bandages he could wrap around his torso and let the blood absorb into those and not another t-shirt. He ripped open the plastic and took out the cottony textured bandage...

"Dan? What happened?"

Stood in the doorway, in stared Adrian. His eyes were wide at the sight of his brothers wounds and mouth slightly open due to shock. In his hand, he gripped tightly onto the paw of Mr. Roar.

Dan spun around, also in shock because of Adrian's sudden appearance, "I'm fine Adrian..."

"YOU HAVE A HOLE IN YOUR BACK!!"

"Adrian! Ssshh!" Dan hushed Adrian as he turned around and covered Adrian's mouth, "Mom'll hear you if you're any louder!"

Obviously understanding Dan's request, Adrian shut up before running out of the bathroom and back to his own room. Sighing out loud, Dan finished wrapping the bandages around his torso before going back into his room and picking out a t-shirt to wear to face his dreaded mother.

Clambering down the stairs, the second he got into the living room he was face to face with his mom and some random bloke he had no idea about.

"Dan. This is Darren," his mom introduced.

"Hey kiddo," Darren introduced, lifting a hand to show a 'kind gesture'.

Kiddo? Dan hated that nickname with a passion. It just rung with sarcasm for him and made Dan feel younger than he really was.
