tyler lays on the bed next to josh as soon as they get home.
he feels calm and relaxed, considering the fact that he gets to sleep on his own bed for the first time in nearly a week.

both funerals had passed, josh, being the only living relative left, decided to cremate her, and bring her home. a decision that was not easily made.

tyler had therapy today, he had been seeing Doctor Beck for quite a while, and he was somewhat excited.

he got up off the bed and planted a kiss to josh's forehead.

"you'll be alright?"

josh nods slightly, a smile curls on his face, before he begins to fall back asleep.

tyler smiles slightly, "i'll be back soon. i love you."

"i love you too." josh mumbles.

tyler opens the door to leave, josh hums quietly, he turns around.

"tyler, this is the most fun i've ever had. i'll see you when you get back. thank you for coming to new york."

tyler smiles.

"i love you, joshy."

"i love you, ty."

-

"it's definitely been a while, tyler."

tyler nods, smiling.

"it has been."

"so tell me, what's been going on the past few weeks."

tyler started to spill words. words he didn't even realize he was capable of saying. he said it. everything. from new york to josh to the journal to the death. at this point, there wasn't anything he hadn't told him. nearly two hours passed until he was done. and he left after that, nothing else needed to be said. tyler was in a good enough place. he had josh, and that's all he needed. he didn't need doctor beck anymore. so he said his goodbye, and his thank you, and he walked out that god forbidden door without a second thought.

the car ride home was nice. tyler smiled the whole way there, he was okay. he felt okay. out of no where, he felt as if everything was going to work itself out. everything will be okay.

tyler parks the car in the driveway,  he locks his car and unlocks the door. he hangs the keys up on the metal hook, and walks to go and see josh.

and then he feels it.

the clenching of his throat. his stomach is turning. he feels as if he's going to throw up. he can't breathe. something is wrong.

he opens the door to the bedroom. josh isn't on the bed. tyler starts to cry. he can't breathe. something is wrong. something is wrong. where is josh.

he doesn't want to open the bathroom door, but he does.

"j-josh?"

nothing.

he looks in the bathtub and he still isn't there.

but tyler doesn't feel any relief. there's one place in the room left to look. the one place tyler is dreading. the place his body is gravitating him towards.

the closet.

he begins to shake.

he opens the closet door ever so slowly.

-

"no. no! no! josh!"
tyler screams.

there he is. joshua william dun. hanging from the closet. a noose around his neck, a chair tipped over. his eyes are partially opened, and they're bloodshot and red and empty. and dead.

tyler screams. he screams so loudly that his lungs feel as if they'll explode. his entire body is on fire. his veins are popping. every string that connected his heart to his body is snapping. and he feels all of it. his eyes feel like they're coming out of his head. and his brain is screaming. everything is screaming. he can hear the blood flowing through his veins. he sits on the closet floor. josh's body continues to tap at him. so he stands up. burning and screaming and sobbing. he unties the noose, not even wondering about how he got it. josh's body instantly collapses. tyler holds him. he sits on the floor again, and holds josh's lifeless body. he continues to scream. he's hoping with every inch of him that josh plugs his ears and says something witty. but he doesn't. and tyler screams. he screams like the world is ending. because it is. the love of his life, hanging there, so empty, dead.

and that's it.

joshua william dun is dead.

and that is all he will continue to be.
