Rhian leaned against the bathroom wall, suddenly feeling very hot. Her heart racing. She let the cold shower vanish her arousal. She had always been a warm bath person and hated cold showers until now. She was able to manage a quick cold shower when the thought of Glaiza without a change of clothes unfold.
She rooted through the pile of undies in her closet and took a pair for the short hair, then choosing a pencil cut dress for her girlfriend to wear. She was just getting outside of her bedroom with only a robe on, when she heard a sound of voices coming from the kitchen.
She poked through with an amused face looking at her mom who had her hands both on her hips. "Mom?" She said incredulously as she stepped closer. "You didn't tell me you're coming." She gave her a peck on her cheek and whispered. "She didn't know yet."
The creasing in her mom's forehead had been evident as her eyes widened as if telling her to follow her lead. Clara nodded. "I was about to surprise you but it seemed, I was the one who got surprised."
Glaiza cleared her throat. "Tita, uhmmm...let me...uhmmm...explain." She stammered.
She was secretly grinning.
Clara shook her head. "You promised, Glaiza." Her voice firm and serious.
Great acting, Mom! She exclaimed in thought.
The short hair looked down as if trying to get some answers from the floor. Then she looked up, not breaking the eye contact with her mom. "I'm sorry if I broke my promise, Tita. I swear! God knows how hard I tried." She paused. "But...I realized that letting go of your daughter, knowing that she loves me just as much, makes me a coward. And that I needed to be brave enough like Rhian to fight for this love." The short hair's voice quivered but continued. "I'm sorry but...I just can't stop loving your daughter."
She did not wait for her mom's answer as she marched to where Glaiza was and kissed her. "I am so in love with you." She mumbled.
"Okay ladies, I am still getting the hang of it."
Her mom blurted out vaguely, not quite comfortably. "So, what's for breakfast?" She began to rummage her fridge."She ain't mad?" The short hair asked softly, looking worried.
"Does she look mad?" She wiggled her eyebrows while she clung to the short hair's waist.
The short hair heaved a deep sigh feeling a large measure of relief but the strange feeling seemed to remain. "I don't follow." She said unable to comprehend what happened, feeling like a toddler wondering how she was born.
She finally let out a hearty laugh making the short hair's eyebrows furrowed even more. "Sorry love, actually...my parents accepted me, us, even before we got back together." She said biting her lower lip to stifle another laugh.
Glaiza stepped back and looked at her mom with a blank face. "If you'll excuse me Tita, I should be preparing for work now." The short hair said and paced to her bedroom without looking at her.
"Hey, love!" She yelled but the short hair continued to march inside the bedroom as if she could hear nothing. She could only hold on to her nape feeling guilty.
"Someone's in trouble." Her mom teased as she began to groan. "I better get going baby, I just actually brought you coffee from Batangas."
