Leah's POV

The wind blew by as I raced through the forest, my fur getting caught often on the briars. Jacob had gone after Hayley when he heard her call and hadn't phased back to a wolf yet. Do you think he's ok?, Seth thought, immediately sparking more conversation from the rest of the pack. Leah you are the closest to his position. Check things out, Sam ordered. I sighed to myself, heading to the cliff. Jacob had filled us in as to where he was before he phased back into a human so I knew exactly where he and Hayley were. To be honest, we were all a little anxious when he hadn't changed back at close to thirty minutes.

As I neared the cliff, a sickening sweet aroma that was the strange vampires filled my nostrils. Careful Leah, Quil thought. I crept slowly out of the trees into the opening. No one was in sight. The leeches scent ventured in another direction but Jacob's was still dominate here. I'm phasing back, I told the others and before anyone could object I changed, slipping on my clothes that I had attached to my ankle. My bare feet crunched in the dry leaves as I walked further into the clearing. "Jacob," I called stepping cautiously forward. "Hey!" I heard someone yell but couldn't distinguish where it was coming from. "Help!" I heard again but knew it was clearly coming from the cliff. I rush over to the edge and look over and saw Jacob hanging a few inches from the top. "Oh my gosh Jacob! What happened?" I said reaching down, grabbing his wrist. He grabbed onto mine and together heaved him up over the side. He stumbled a little, catching his breath.

I walked up beside him and waited for him to talk. "I have to go," he suddenly said in a rush, eyes wide. "Whoa Jacob," I reply grabbing his arm to stop him. "They have her Leah! I have to save her. I can't let them hurt her," Jacob exclaimed struggling against my grip. "What are you talking about?" I asked staring at him. "The damn leeches have Hayley. They took her and I couldn't stop them. Let me go Leah. I'll do it myself," he replied turning to me. For the first time I saw the fast healing scars on his arms and neck. "She thinks I'm dead and I'm afraid I won't ever get to see her again. I need her with me or I'm not whole. I just have to save her Leah," he said. I stood there watching him, knowing he was in pain.

Tears began to fill his eyes. "Come on," I said,"We have to tell the others." With that I shifted and waited for Jake. Everyone popped into my head immediately. What happened Jake?, Sam questioned. The event played back in Jacob's mind, giving us all a glimpse as to what happened. Jacob and I were running to meet the others now. Meet at the Cullens. It seems the intruders picked up some friends and we're going to need their help, Sam thought. As we made our way, Jacob remained in his own mind or as much as he could. Every now and then he let slip a harsh feeling toward himself or hateful feelings towards the bloodsuckers. I couldn't blame him. I would feel the same if my imprint was in danger and taken. All I could do was try to console him and hope we wouldn't be too late to save Hayley.

Hayley's POV

I was being pulled this way and that through the trees. Our blinding speed made everything just a blur. It made me queezy to watch but I had to pay attentionto where they were taking me. They came to an abrupt stop outside what looked like an abandoned building on the outskirts of La Push. When Ian stopped, I almost was thrown to the ground by the action. I struggled with everything I had but it did nothing."Where do you think you're going?" he said, the others circling us. I was yanked straight into Ian by the wrists and pulled into the building. "Let me go!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. He just laughed at my failed attempts to get free, at how little affect I had.

I was thrown rather hardly down to the floor of a dark room with a high window that only a giant could look out of. I looked up at Ian in the doorway, tears forming and rolling down my face. "Why are you doing this?" I asked getting choked up on my emotions. An evil laugh came from Ian as he squatted down in front of me to my eye level. "You're such a pathetic human. So weak, so fragile. I don't see what that mut saw in you. It'll be easy to kill you, you know. However I think I'll torture you some more though just like I did your dog before putting him out of his misery," Ian said with venom in his voice.

When he said that, I was flooded with anger. Angry that he killed Jacob, angry that I couldn't do anything. Ian shook his head with a smirk before locking the door behind him, leaving me alone. I staggered to my feet and flung myself at the door. "Let me out of here you murderers! You murdered him! Let me out!" I yelled banging on the door. All my world seemed to be crashing down around me. I slid my back down the door in defeat, sobbing with my head in my hands. I sat crying stuck in this dark room with only a strip of moonlight showing, heartbroken and alone.
