Bella's POV(continued)

The abandon building where Hayley was being kept was in sight from our positon in the woods. We were just a couple yards from the entrance which was swarming with the vampire coven. I knew I was supposed to be going in for Hayley while the others began the fight. Even though I wanted to join the fight with them sooner, I knew Jacob was counting on me. Once I got her to safety, I could help in the fight. "Ok Bella, whenever you're ready," Carlisle nodded toward me. I returned the nod and shot a quick encouraging smile to Jacob. "Be careful," Edward spoke, giving me a quick kiss. I kissed him back, worried about the fight to come but I knew my family and friends were all strong. I took a deep breath as I went one way to go around the building as the others readied themselves for the battle.

Hayley's POV

Dust flew up causing me to cough as I was thrown to the floor of my dark room. "We'll be back human," a vampire I came to know as Cane said laughing along with his mate Veronica. They closed the door and I was left alone again. This was only one of the two "torture" sessions Ian had promised. They seemed to be getting worse. I was battered, bruised, and constantly reminded of Jacob. I struggled my way through all my pain to sit against the wall farthest from the door. It's cool feel was somewhat comforting to the soreness corsing through my body. I was losing him. The warmth I felt when around Jacob that stayed with me was disappearing. Why are they prolonging the inevitable?

My eyes were heavy from lack of sleep but I just couldn't let myself surcome to it. I heard yelling outside my door and just prepared for whatever was to come. They'd been yelling all night so I thought nothing of it. Then I heard the clanking to open the door and I pulled my knees to me, placing my head against my knees. "Please, no more. Just get it over with please," I begged, tears dropping from my eyes. I felt whoever had come in kneel beside me and I immediately tensed up. The vampire gently touched my arm. causing me to let out a whimper. "It's ok Hayley," a familiar female voice said. "Bella?" I asked peeking over my arms to look at her. Bella sat there with a concerned look on her face. No doubt from my beat up appearance. "Oh Bella, it's really you! I'm so glad your here," I cry slinging my arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug.

I was so happy she was with me, saving me. It must mean that everyone was out there causing the commotion. I was safe...for now. She returned the hug but only briefly. "Come, I have to get you out of here. The others are outside fighting," she said helping me to my feet. She held me up as I limped out the door. It was dark in the hall but thankfully Bella knew her way. We headed down the hall and came to a door to the outside. Bella pushed it open and my eyes almost popped out of their sockets. All around us were vampires and werewolves fighting. The light from the outside lights of the building shown over the scene in front of us. They were all moving so fast that I almost couldn't tell the difference.

I looked around seeing Sam's black wolf form fighting the big vampire that had taken on Jacob. Bella was anxiously moving me but I was in shock at the sight of the fighting. "Come on Hayley. I have to get you to safety," Bella urged pulling me towards the woods. My eyes sweeped over the scene as we passed seemingly unnoticed. Suddenly my eyes fell on a wolf. A russet colored one. My breath literally left my lungs and I was left gasoing for air. "Wait, wait! Is that Jacob?" I asked frantically pointing at him. "Of course it is," she answered not paying me any attention.

The tears started to come back. "I saw him go over the edge of the cliff. I thought he was dead," I exclaim shaking my head, my knees almost giving out on me. Bella stopped to face me. "He caught himself on a ledge and Leah got him up," she replied seeing the pain in my eyes. "I have to see him," I say trying to run to him. "No, I have to get your out of here. I promised Jacob," Bella said grabbing my wrist but I didn't take my eyes of Jacob's fighting form. I tried to pull against her but lets face it, she's a vampire. "Hayley listen to me. If you go out there he'll have to worry about you and will lose focus ," Bella reasoned, grabbing my shoulders so I had to look at her. She was right. I thought I had lost Jacob once and I didn't want to be the reason I could lose him again. All I do is nod and let Bella lead me through the forest, with one more look at Jacob, away from the fight.

Jacob's POV

There she was. Bella had gotten her out and there Hayley stood. She looked pretty beaten up which only made the anger coursing through my body intensify. I had to focus though on this leech....the leader, Ian. Even though my heart was ripping because I wanted to run and hold her, I had to win this fight. I couldn't abandon my pack and the Cullens. I turn my attention back to Ian. He had a smirk on his evil face that I wanted desperately to rip off. A vicious snarl erupted from my throat as I lunged at him, ready to rip him apart.
