WARNING: this chapter is very sappy and romantic, but there will be a mention of Remi's depression. If you're not comfortable with that, please skip over it. Or if you're feeling like that, please call somebody. Anyone. Get help. I'd hate to read about whoever you might be on the news. Enjoy the chapter.

P.S. My family is going through a lot right now (yes, again), so sorry if it's a shit chapter

"Can I go!?" Mike asked excitedly.

"What's so interesting about coming with her to get her cast off?" Luke asked.

"Dude, she hasn't washed that leg in a month."

"That's revolting," I cringed, just as Luke said, "Sick."

"Boys," I muttered. "Fine, but if you ask to keep my cast, I'm disowning you."

He rolled his eyes and ran out of my room to get his shoes.

"So," Luke said.

"So," I repeated with a smile. I've been doing that a lot lately around him. I've missed the tightness I felt in my cheeks. It made me feel happy. Luke made me feel happy.

"Are we still on for tomorrow?"

"No, I'm going on another date that night. Sorry," I replied sarcastically. "Luke, my answer is not going to change from the last time you asked me which was 30 minutes ago. Do you need any more reassurance?"

"Mm... Probably."

"You're a brat."

"You love it."

"I do," I smirk. "Mikey, if you don't hurry, we're leaving you!"

The newly 11-year old ran down the hallway and down the steps, shouting, "I'm already downstairs!"

I rolled my eyes and Luke helped me down the stairs and into his car. He drives like he's using his feet, but I trust him more than Mike with a steering wheel.

After getting to the office, checking in, and going into the room to wait some more, Luke decided to pester me again about our date tomorrow.

"Are you sure you still want to go out tomorrow? You might have trouble walking and the lake is a little far-"

"Luke," I interrupted. "Come here."

He stopped talking and stood in front of me.

"Closer, you dingbat."

He got to eye level with me. I put my hands on his cheeks and kissed him before squishing his face.

"I'm going on the date with you." He nodded in response. "Say it."

"You're going on the date with me," he mumbled.

The doctor came in and Mike scrambled up to stand next to me. I let go of Luke's face and he stands behind my brother.

"Good..." The doctor checked her watch. "Fuck, it's already 2? Um, don't tell anyone I said 'fuck'. I'm already in enough trouble as it is with my hair." She flipped the gorgeous blue ombré locks over her shoulder. "Anyways, Remi Higgins, I'm Dr. Lindsey Way (Gerard Way and Lyn-Z af). Call me Lindsey. So how are you feeling?"

I lift up my left leg to probably one of the best doctors I've ever had. "Ready to get this shit off."

"Right," she laughed. "I'm just gonna get the saw and the pliers ready and I'll cut it off. Then I'll cut off the cotton-y shit and then, since your leg will look like a dead gorilla, I'll take you to the sink and scrub it off."
