Four years ago.

So much work. Hours. Days. Months. Years. So much work, and the payoff was in sight. The scientist stood in front of his completed work, and smiled contentedly. Just a few more adjustments, and then it would be complete. He clapped his hands together and rubbed them, sighing with pride.

The sound caught the attention of the only other person in the room. His aide, a college student who hadn't been on for very long walked up to him and asked, "how soon until it's online?" He took a look at it, examining it closely, deeply curious.

"She, young man, she. And very soon will she be online. As soon as Lorraine patches her programming, she will be online." He replied with a smile. This project was his pride and joy, the fruition of enormous effort of just him and Lorraine, the other half of the project crew.

The aide pursed his lips, processing that thought. "And once that's done, what'll she do?"
The scientist turned to the young man and grinned wildly, "be the revolution in robotics"
