Chapter Six

Tara's POV

Weekend are supposed to be fun and your time off from the regular boring life but when you're a full time mom you don't really get any weekends. My daughter is this ball of energy that is never tired and weekends she's extra charged since she knows her mother is going to be home.

"Emma please be a good girl and finish your carrots" I've been holding her food, trying to make her eat for the past one hour and she's being super stubborn.

"No no no. I hate carrot. I hate it"

"I told you it is going to help you grow up fast and it'll make you stronger. Come on sweetie, finish this and we'll play something."

She came running back and took another bite "last bite?"

The door bell rang and got up to get it "Yes last bite"

I opened the door to see the face I had no idea I would be seeing. I completely forgot about Emma's playdate with Xavier.

He was wearing a plain body hugging t-shirt which made this body look so prominent which was always so difficult to see underneath the suits he wore with a pair of ripped jeans which hung low on his waist. How do you tear your eyes from something magnificently beautiful?

I looked at him and he was staring at me too. I wonder why? And then I looked at myself, I was a mess. I was wearing a pair of booty shorts with a hello Kitty t-shirts that hung loose on my body. Emma and I have the same t-shirt and she loves wearing it with me.

"Cute" he said pointing at my t-shirt and lowered my head in embarrassment.

Emma came running and showed her t-shirt too "See. Same"

He carried her and took her to the living room "And you look super pretty"

As soon as Emma saw Xavier I think she got more energetic. She finished her food without fussing at all, agreed to take a bath and get dress as soon as possible.

I came out with her after cleaning her and started preparing for my breakfast "Want to join me for breakfast?" I asked Xavier

"I would've loved to but I already had breakfast with a client"

"You work in weekends too?"

"Normally yes. Sometimes if I company or plans like today I avoid working but today was important so I agreed for a quick meeting."

Xavier went to the living room to watch the movie with Emma while I settled on the dinner table to eat my breakfast.

Jess came out of her room after getting freshen up and I felt I'm the only one who looks like mess. Sigh.

"Hey Xavier. Nice to see you" Jess said

"Same here"

"So you kept your words of watching Frozen with this little devil"

"What can I say. I'm a man of words"

"Will you both have coffee?" I asked

"Yes that would be perfect" both of them said in union to which both Jess and Emma laughed.

After getting both of them coffee I quickly got up to make myself look presentable. I showered and got dressed in a floral dress. I came out and saw Xavier and Jess talking.

"I've to the office to submit my articles so I'll see you guys later" she got up and took her bag and files. She kissed Emma and did the same, with that she waved and left.

"I didn't know she also works on weekends!" Xavier said surprisingly

"Well since she's mostly home on weekdays working from home and taking care of Emma she compensates it by working on weekends. Not all weekends, mostly"
