Chapter Twenty Four

Tara's POV

It's been over a month of Emma calling Xavier 'dad' and I still haven't gotten a complete hang of it but I'm rolling with it anyway. I've my own worries to be worried about but none of those compare to the endless amount of happiness my daughter has gotten from Xavier. He's in complete awe with her which is amazing. He listens to her and she talks to him about everything. They look perfect together as a family.

On the other hand Jessica got her dream job in Paris and is moving out. It wasn't an easy decision and I had to do a lot of convincing to her for taking up the job but finally she agreed. She didn't want to leave Emma and me here and move but it wasn't fair to keep her here when there is a dream job waiting for her. We fought, we talked, we cried and finally we settled on her taking the job. Emma was a really upset but having Xavier made her a little bit okay.

I finally completed my phase one of the project I'm working with Xavier and I had another week until I start the phase two so I volunteered to help Jessica move. We did almost all the packing in the week time and she's finally leaving today. Emma was Sapphire today since Jessica didn't want her to see her leave. She said her goodbye before so she won't cry and be more upset after she's gone.

I put her clothes down and started folding them. "I never realized you had so many clothes until now. I'm so tired of folding them"

"You know none of this would've happened if you hadn't convinced me to move and take that job."

"Aren't we over this already? You're not giving up your dream job because of me or because of Emma. You've done alot for me and I'll be forever grateful for you but as your best friend I'm not letting you give away your chance at the future you want."

"I know bu-"

"I'm scared too and I hate this situation just as much as you do but I love you. You've worked for this. You deserve this more than anything. Nothing should hold you back, I don't want to hold you back. You're going to okay. We're going to okay. It's a good news. It's your new beginning."

I know she wanted to say more, object about it but she choose otherwise. She smiled at me softly and gave me a nod.

I was packing when I got a message from Sapphire to meet her. She wanted to ask me something.

"Hey I just got a text from Sapphire. She wants to ask something important. I'll be back soon and drive you to the airport" I told Jess

"Okay cool"

I picked up my keys and drove to Xavier's. Sapphire was staying at Xavier's for the time being and Emma was with her at his house. I parked my car and head up to his place.

I got in to see Sapphire and Emma sitting comfortably on the couch and watching a movie with popcorn their hands.

"I thought it was something important, it doesn't seem important." I said frowning which caught their attention. Emma waved at me enthusiastically and Sapphire got up to talk. She looks so pretty with her baby bump, now showing and her amazing pregnancy glow.

"Hey, everything okay? Did Emma do something?" I asked in a low voice.

"Yeah everything is fine and your daughter is such a good girl. She would never do anything wrong."

"Then what's up?"

"Well, Daniel's family is arranging this getaway thing for two to three days with all his cousins and their kids and everyone so I thought it would fun if I could take Emma with me. I mean there'll be a lot of kids and it'll be fun. Plus I'll have training in how to handle a kid"
