Chapter Thirty Four

Tara's POV

I was sleeping when I heard some noises coming from outside. I ignored the noises thinking I'm hallucinating or something but that wasn't it. I looked for my phone when I remembered I left it outside before talking to Jessica and then sending emails to Edward. He's been gone for almost a months now and apparently having the time of his life, Xavier on the other hand misses him like crazy and has taken two trips to meet him. It's adorable.

Whatever I thought was happening stopped and tried to go back to sleep but I couldn't. I was already up and worried about something going out there. My baby was sleeping in her room and I can't go back to sleep until I'm sure she's okay. 

I got up and walked upto the door. I tried to open the door but it wasn't opening. I kept trying but it seemed locked which is odd since I never fully close my door.

"Emma! Sweetie! Are you there?" I shouted for her but no answer. I kept calling for her but no response. At this point I was less worried but more of crazy Mom thinking about anything bad that can happen.

Defeated, I finally sat on the floor with my hands on my forehead and tears rolling down my cheeks. I was stuck and had no idea what my daughter is doing. After what felt like forever the door opened revealing Emma, Xavier, Sapphire and Daniel.

"Surprise"  everyone screamed together. I saw them standing with a happy birthday cake and my daughter holding a card which said 'Happy b-day Mommy'. It was the cutest thing ever. With Edward moving, work and Emma, I've been incredibly busy that I zoned out on my own birthday. 

We cut the cake and then I opened everyone's present. It was thoughtful and warm. I felt like I was around family again. I missed Jessica since I've never spend any occasion without her ever since Emma. I smiled looking at all the people across the room and it felt nice and familiar. I was happy and very content.

"Happy birthday Babe" Xavier whispered in my ear as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer.

I kissed his nose "Thank you so much. I completely forgot my birthday this year."

"Figured. I just want you to be happy on your birthday. No worries, just happy"

I gave him a big smile "I'm very happy. You're the best ever."

"Oh! hold that thought because I've a surprise for you."

"There's more? You think you went a little overboard?"

"No I did not. Can you just wait till the right time and make judgements later?"

I kissed him and agreed to his conditions even though I wanted to know about this surprise very badly.

"Now come let's sleep you've a long day waiting for you"

I woke up with a lot of voices coming from my kitchen which is rare since I never have time for cooking. I looked around and found sleeping alone. I quickly brushed my teeth and made my way outside. I say Daniel feeding Sapphire and Xavier and Emma in the kitchen.

"Good morning birthday girl" Sapphire said and everyone looked at me.

"Morning guys! What's happening?" I sat next to Sapphire.

"Emma is preparing breakfast for you and Xavier is helping her." Daniel said "I'm feeding the mother of my child" and sighed to which Sapphire elbowed him.

I laughed. Emma came up with the plate of pancake with her little hands struggling not to drop any. The pancakes were not good but for me it was the best pancake I've ever tasted because the I love the most in the world made an effort to make it for me. I kissed both of them on cheeks and we continued the breakfast. Everyone left leaving me to get ready for work. Sapphire took Emma to the school with Daniel and Xavier left in a hurry saying he had an important meeting. I got dressed in a black and white off-shoulder dress(A/N: Picture of the outfit at the beginning). I let my hair loose with little makeup. I took my car and drove to office.

I entered the office and every single person wished me and gave me a red rose. I never felt this special in my entire life and it made me smile and blush. I entered my floor and entire floor was decorated. Everyone stood with a rose in a hand to wish. It was an insane amount of crazy but it made me smile. 

I sat on my chair and saw a gift with a note. I took the note and read it.

Love,

Don't open the gift until you reach home.

I've something planned for you tonight and all you've to do is get ready by 8 p.m.

Emma will be with Sapphire and she'll be take care of her. Try not to worry, okay?

I smiled and put the note in my purse. I kept staring at the gift thinking about opening it. It was right there, sitting in front of me. It was torture but I decided my boyfriend is more important than a silly gift and I should respect him and do as he told. I put the gift out of my sight and started sorting my office before resuming work.
