What the hell are we doing?
With our songs, words, our poetry
We're trying to change the world?
The "lost generation" is trying to take control
Screaming silently because no one is listening
After all, when a tree falls,
And no one is there to hear it,
Did it really make a sound?
Because we are that tree, we're falling to the ground
And with everyone caught up in what they think reality,
Is supposed to be,
They're not around to hear the tree
And they think that since they're not listening
That we're not really falling
But not only not being able to hear,
They're unable to see
Because if they cared to open their eyes to our reality
They'll not only find that the whole damn forest is falling,
They'll see that they're the ones chopping down the trees!
Left and right, our mothers and fathers of our country
Are burning down the forests of not only our beings,
But all the people they classify as minorities
Filed as so because they're not the same
So for the forest falling, who is really to blame?
The millennials, the ones with their heads not screwed on tight
Just because we want to have, for everyone, their rights
So I might be an echo in the forest of the dark and twisted
But as the trees fall down, without a sound,
There won't be a forest left to thrive inDedicated to @Jennescape for inspiring this~
