I used to want to be like the other kids
The teenagers, I wanted to do the things that they did
But all the kids do now is cut, smoke, or drink
They lie all alone, the biggest risk now is to think
Kids are destroying themselves, getting lost in their thrills
Parties, drugs, taking their pills
And the younger ones, what about them?
Looking up to the reckless, they say they want to be like them
What are we to do? We're the lost generation
Getting swallowed up by depression, anxiety, and addiction
I used to look up to "the cooler kids," all of them
But now, with my own issues, I realize I'm one of them
The lost, the broken, the insecure
Now I wonder, all those years ago, what on earth did I wish for?
