I find I like to wait
Sit patiently
And watch
I don't like getting involved
I'd rather sit back
And watch
Waiting, waiting
Until finally I see
That I was right to wait
That things really aren't what they seem
To those involved
So I sit back
Wait patiently
And watch as everything burns
While I'm sat here
Untouched
By the flames
I'm patient
So I don't get burned
But I can't help but feel
That maybe I want to dive headfirst into the fire
So I can finally feel the warmth
Of lighting something aglow
Even if it does mean I get burned
At least I didn't watch it happen
At least I accomplished something
At least I'm not alone
Because sometimes
Being the only one watching,
Waiting,
Patient,
Knowing,
Gets lonely.
