Chapter 36- The Calm Before The Storm

Darren and I where setted in a waiting room close to Emily's hospital room.

She slowly gotten worse and they said it was dangerously close to losing her.

Cole couldn't make it today but Darren and I came to give her the stuffed cat, that looks like Minne, to her.

"Okay she is ready." The nurse said opening the door to let us in.

"Thank you." Darren said holding the door for me.

"Rose!" Emily screamed.

I ran towards her and gave her a hug. After a few moment I pulled away and looked at her from arms length.

She looked better. Better than usual.
I don't see what the doctors are worried about.

"I got you something." I said reaching behind me to my bag.

"What?" She said sitting up and I saw her straining a bit.

"Cole got it for you." I held it out.

She giggled. "I love it!"

After we had hospital food with her for breakfast, her parents showed up.

We left not to long after that. Darren needed to go home and I wasn't to fond of having the apartment to myself till 7.

"Bye. C'ya." He yelled as I walked up to Sally's house.

It's been a few weeks since I've been here. I left in early August, now it was getting chilly enough to wear a hoodie.

I waved him goodbye and walked inside.

"Hello! I'm here."I called out and Sally came running toward me to give me a hug.

"I've missed you!" She said, hugging me tightly.

"I've missed you too."

She let go and smiled. "Invite everyone over. I'm going to go get food." She grabbed her purse and walked out.

I laughed and opened everyone curtain on the first floor. Once I did that I found a movie for us to watch and invited everyone over.

Kylie and Vince were the first to show up.

"Good to see you again, Rose." Vince said. He had his hand on the pregnant Kylie's stomach.

"Rose, Rose, Rose. I heard that you have a boyfriend. Why didn't you tell me?" Kylie was holding a little girl who I assumed was Addrey.

"I was going to tell you soon." I said giving her a hug.

"Yeah. Sure." She said letting go of Addrey. She got up and ran to the living room.

"Vince. Tell me, when are you going to purpose to my best friend?"

Vince chuckled and Kylie blushed. "Time will tell."

Vince, is somone you would not won't to mess with. 6'3. Dark hair and dark green eyes. And so much muscle that he could kill you by slapping your back.

Kylie and Vince, if they were still in highschool, would be called the It couple.

They have known each other since elementary. First best friends, and now dating. Not to mention taking care of a kid.

Mason has nothing on Vincent. I've met Mason. He is the definition of good for nothing husband and dad.

Brown hair and blue eyes. No muscle and barely 6 foot.

Also gets drunk every night, and the night Kylie stayed over he had hit Addrey because he thought she knew where Kylie was.

Then when Kylie found out the next morning they had gotten into a fight, found out she was pregnant and ran away to Vince's.

As we talked I heard a knock.
"Give me a second guys." I said opening the door and seeing Cole.

"Alexia had to work. She sends her love." Cole said giving me hug.

"No problem. I just hope she shows up later."

He walked to where Kylie and Vincent was.
"Look who we have here. A lovely couple? Can you two put me in the direction of a little princess about yay high?" Kylie giggled and putting to the living room where Addrey was.

He thanks them and tipped toed into the living room.

A second after he disappeared we heard a scream mixed in with a giggled, and Cole yelling 'Gotcha!'

Jackson showed up after him. "Rose!" He yelled running into the house. "There is a monster out there! Help!" He yelled and stumbled against me. I could smell the alcohol on him.

Vince shook his head and led Kylie into the living room.

Derek walked in with wine. "That monster is me. He was at a college party, I had to drag him away. He was doing so good." He sighed.

Jackson squealed. "Monster!" He tried running but ended up in the floor.

Derek shook his head. "Guess since the summer is over it's time to be responsible again." He patted my shoulder and picked up Jackson and helped him to the living room.
