Chapter 13- Bugs

"Kylie! When did you get here?" Alexia asked.

A curly brunette girl was restocking clothes. She spun around "It's my shift." She said without a missing a beat.

"Kylie? I thought you were on vacation?" Jackson asked with a smile on his face.

The lady chuckled, "You know how Mason is. That man is going to drive me insane." She saw me and smiled.

"Oh Kylie this is Rose. Rose this is Kylie. She is the queen of this town." Jackson said grinning.

"Don't flatter me. I'm five years older than you." She had a southern accent.
"It's nice to meet you Rose."

"Kylie and I have known each other since high school. I was a freshman and she was a senior." He explained.

"Speaking of highschool. How was your graduation?" She asked.

"Awful. The principal said to me 'don't be expecting to get into a good college.'" He scoffed.

"Hahaha. I remember when he said that to me and Mason. I told him 'I ain't going to college. You want to know why? I'm getting married to Mason.'" She smiled.

"Wow." I said in awe. Actual high school love birds.

"I got pregnant at age 19. A week after we got married. Worst mistake ever. Not the pregnant child. Oh no. I live Addree. My little princess. No marrying Mason. That son of a-"

"Watch your language." Cole said and pointed to Emily.

"I was going to say gun. He goes out every night and works so much." She said.

"But I do love that man." She whispered.

Alexia laughed. "Sure you do. But you and Vince could make the cutest couple." Rebecca laughed along with her.

"That would make you my sister in law!"

"Vincent and I are only friends." The brunette walked over to the cash register. She put in a few bills and coins and closed it.

"Sure." Jackson said.

"Shut your trap." She yelled laughing.

"Who says that anymore?" Derek asked.

"I, the 24 year old." She said.

"I can't believe I'm the oldest." Rebecca said.

"Well, to be fair you don't act the oldest." Cole said. "Derek does. He acts like an old man." He laughed and punched his shoulder.

"No. He doesn't act like an old man." Kylie said.

"See-" Derek started saying.

"He acts like an old woman!" She said laughing.

"I should've known that that was to nice for her to say about me."

Meanwhile I was laughing my butt off.

Emily was just going around the store when she screamed, "Spider!" She ran towards us and Cole picked her up.

"Where?" We all asked. Alexia, Kylie, Cole and I were the only ones freaking out.

Jackson walked to where it was.
"I don't- oh no run!" He ran out of the building.

We followed him out.

"I knew we were infested." Kylie said.

"Call pest patrol to do a sweeping." Alexia said oddly adultly all of the sudden.

"Good idea." Kylie said grabbing her phone and dialed the number.

"I thought you got that taken care of." Jackson said.

"No that was the ice cream shop." Rebecca said.  "I guess they thought the shop was a good living place."

"Why are you laughing?" Jackson asked glaring at Derek.

"You...screamed...like...a little girl. Aghhhhh!" He mocked his brothers scream.

"Whatever."

"No. He screamed like a pre pubebesent boy." Cole said laughing.

"It looks like we are going to have to wait." Kylie said.

"Then let's go to the ice cream shop and relax there until he comes."

Everyone agreed and we went back to the ice cream parlor.
