We walked down a wide hallway. One light.

Even though this place seems homey, this hallways looks like something from a horror movie.

With that thought in my mind I moved closer towards Derek.
Just because his a guy I feel more safe.

"You think it's a scary movie hallway, don't you?" He chuckled.

I nodded. "Read my mind." I whispered.

He wrapped his arms around my shoulder, "Don't worry. I'll protect you." Jokingly.

"Thanks." I mumbled.

We got to this big, section? I don't know what you call it. The living room was on the right and a couple of other room connected to this big middle room that had stairs leading up.

"Okay so this room is where when everyone comes to hang out this is the like, hang out room. Nobody actually comes in here unless it's a holiday or to get to the rooms." He said standing in the middle of the 'hang out room.'

The hang out room had a couple of comfy lookin chairs and a couch.
There is a fireplace with a tv on the mantel.

The room was a beige color with the furniture a turquoise color.
I'm guessing this is the color pattern in all the rooms.

"That's the backdoor." He pointed at a beautiful red door leading outside. Obviously.

"That big opening is the living room. It has a half bathroom connected to it. Emily barely leaves there. That closed door is the office. Just work stuff and a desk with a computer. There is also a single bed in there."

I peeked into the living room and smiled. Emily was sitting on a blanket on the floor. It looked like she was watching Disney.

"That office room. Is that where I'm staying?" I asked.

"No. That's only if more than one person is staying over. It's really... Not a good place to stay in more than a week." He said.

Derek opened the door beside it. It was a cute old theme. A big window looking towards what I'm assuming a lake. A queen sized bed with a rustic looking theme.

"This is Sally's room. When Emily spends the night, she sleeps in the same bed as Sally. Sally doesn't spend a lot of time in here. Or not alot when we are over. She has a bathroom just over there." He pointed over at a door.

"Where am I staying?" I asked.

"Follow me and you'll find out."

We went into the hang out room.
"You'll be staying upstairs. Follow me."

"It feels like your an actual tour guide. Or one of those relaters. Or even those fancy hotel people." I said pointing at him as we walked up the stairs.

"Fancy hotel people?" He laughed. "Watch your step."

When we got to the top he opened the door. And I was not expecting what was up here.

"Wow."

The room was absolutely amazing. The front wall had a huge window looking over the lake. A cute pale pink bunk bed that had a desk and lamp underneath the bed, beside it. The wall the door is on was made of bookshelves and dressers. There were books, boxes, movies and a tv. And the other wall had a door?

"Whats that door?"

"A bathroom." He said and walked over to couch that was positioned sideways underneath the window.

I sighed with relief. "Oh thank goodness I thought it was going to be like, I don't know, a creepy room or attic."

He chuckled and motioned for me to sit next to him. "This turns into a futon. One time I had to sleep up here because I ran away from home. But all I did was go a couple of meters.

"Wait. You're her neighbor?"

"Yep. My family and I."He said leaning back and looking out the window.

"The rain let up alittle. Maybe you want to go meet the neighbors? Like after dinner?" He asked looking at me.

This summer I had a plan of meeting as many new people I could.

"Yeah. Sounds like a good idea!" I said.

"And maybe afterwards I can help you unpack?"

"Yeah. That would be fantastic! I packed a lot."

"Cool, I think dinners ready."
