I'm really sorry for not updating I'm so long. I was working on this which is a true story. I wanted to dedicate this to my grandma.

"Hey babe" I spoke softly.

She tried to stutter out a reply but couldn't from her sobs. Luke, who had been with her the past hour since I had work, pushed himself off the bed but stopped when she grabbed his arm. He smiled sadly and picked her up bridal style, walking over to me. Y/n tried to say something but still couldn't get any words out.

"I know baby it's ok" I said, taking her from Luke, "Don't speak. I know everything"

I mumbled out a quick 'thank you' as Luke left the room. As I made my way back to the bed, she whispered my name.

"I'm here, I'm right here"

"I-I...she's g-gone"

"Y/n it's ok, you don't have to talk" I reassured her.

I moved her into my lap so she was straddling me with her head in my neck. Knowing it would calm her down, I started rubbing my hands up and down her sides while resting my chin on her shoulder. After a while I wrapped my arms around her back to hold her tightly.

When I thought she calmed down enough I tilted her back until she was laying down.

I hated that I wasn't here when she found out her grandmother died. But that's why I asked Luke to stay with her. I didn't want her to be alone and out of everyone, she was the closest with Luke.

I called her dad, Scot, back like he asked. He asked how y/n was doing and I told him the truth. Scot suggested we fly out there tomorrow to be with her family for a while but he said most of the family was at their house so we had to stay at a hotel. I said it was fine and told him goodnight. After the short phone call I booked us plane tickets and started packing a bag for y/n and I. We would only be there for a few days so one bag was enough.

Once I finished everything I collapsed on the bed. I was extremely tired. Today was a terrible day and the next few days didn't look like they would be any better.

Turning over, I pulled y/n into my arms, her tear covered face going against my chest. My heart was breaking for her. I didn't like seeing her so upset and I would do anything to keep her smiling.

The alarm going off jolted y/n awake. I slammed my hand down on it so it would stop ringing.

"What's that for?" She whispered.

I tightened my grip on her and kissed her forehead, "Just get dressed alright?"

Once we were dressed and had everything in the car, we left to go to the airport. Y/n didn't say anything the entire ride or when we were going through everything at the airport.

I think she was still in shock from what happened and I could tell she was on the verge of crying.

"Hey baby girl how ya doing?" I smiled, sitting in the spot next to her on the plane.

She shrugged, "I really really miss her. I loved her more than anyone else in my family because she understood me so well. It's just not fair"

I shushed her and and brought her closer to me so she could lay her head on my shoulder, her tears were hitting my shirt but I didn't care.

One thing I had learned about y/n was that she didn't like to talk about things when she was upset. She just wanted to say it to get it off her chest and that was it.
