You heard the front door open and close. It was dark in your house and all you saw was a shadow walk down the hallway. You grabbed a bat and backed into the corner. When the person came in you raised the bat.
"Don't hit me" they yelled. The light turned on and you saw Michael covering his head.
"Mikey" you yelled running to him. You ran right into him knocking him over.
"Whoa babe" he laughed. "I guess you missed me"
"Shut up" you smacked his chest. "You've been gone for 5 months I wasn't expecting you home"
"I got you something" he smiled tapping your nose.
"I got something for you too" you said.
"Mines in my car" he pushed you off of him carefully.
"Hey" you pouted.
"I'm sorry babe" he chuckling kissing you. "There all better" he laughed.
"Your gift is upstairs" you said pulling away and going to your bedroom. Michael held his gift for you quietly as he waited for you to come back. Michaels eyes widened as he saw the tiny kitten in your arms.
"You got me a kitten" he yelled.
"You got me a hamster" you yelled.
"Wait" Michael said putting the hamster back in the cage. He came over to you and took the cat.
"Why did you do this?" He looked at your smiling.
"Because you've been the best boyfriend I could ever ask for and I wanted to get you something you love" you answered shrugging.
"You already gave me something I love"
"What do you mean?" You asked looking up at him.
"You gave me your heart forever" he watched a blush take over your cheeks. You fiddled with the engagement ring on your finger.
"Ok come meet your pet" Michael said setting the kitten on the ground. You skipped behind Michael to the hamster cage.
"I remember you telling me once how you wanted a hamster when you were a kid so one day your parents bought one and gave it to your sister. You told me how you cried for hours because you were so jealous and hurt. I loved hearing you say how you wanted a brown and white one and you were gonna name it Alex because your first dog was named that. And i almost cried when I saw that beautiful smile on your face when you saw I bought you a brown and white hamster. So honey I would like you to meet Alex" he finished taking the small animal out of the cage. He placed it in your hands and watched your eyes light up.
"This means so much to me" you smiled leaning up to kiss him.
"So does the cat. Here kitty" he yelled going to find it. He came running back in and smashed his lips on yours.
"I love you" he pecked your lips once more and ran out of the room.
"Dork" you smiled holding the hamster up to your face.
