"Are you tired yet?" Michael asked as your laugher died down from his previous idea to tickle you.
"A little" you admitted, laying against his chest again.
"Good" he smiled, glancing up at the clock. He had to leave soon. He had to leave but this time he wasn't coming back. Michael hated to do this to you but he was protecting you.
He pushed the thoughts aside and kissed your forehead.
"Sleep well baby girl, remember I'll always love you" he whispered.
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion but you didn't question it. You knew it was just Michael reminding you that he loved you like he often did.
"I love you too Mikey" you whispered, snuggling more into his chest.
His heart swelled when he heard you say that. It would be the last night he heard you say it. He hummed quietly until he was certain you had fallen. Then, after leaving one final kiss on your lips, he left.
You woke up the next morning slightly confused. Michael rarely left you alone in the morning. You went down stairs to see if he left a note like he usually did and you even checked to see if he had left a text explaining where he was.
You went the whole day in bed waiting for him to come back but he never did. Sometime in the afternoon you heard a knock on the door. As you rushed down the stairs, thinking it was Michael, you tripped and fell the rest of the way down. By the time you made it to the bottom you were unconscious from hitting your head so many times.
"Y/n?" Ashton yelled. And then him and Calum were working together to try and break the door. They had heard you fall. Luke checked around the back of the house and found your back door unlocked. He let the other guys in before he had you in his arms.
"She's bleeding" he said, panic lacing his voice as he carried you to the car.
"I'll drive" Ashton stated. Calum sat in the back with you and Luke, brushing his fingers across your cheek.
"Michael wasn't home" Ashton mumbled, as he stared blankly at the road.
"Just because we didn't see him doesn't mean he wasn't there. He could of been in his room or something" Luke replied, trying to look at it in a positive way.
"We all know he would be the first at Y/N's side if she fell" Ashton grumbled.
That was the truth. It would be Michael holding you in the back of the car not Luke. The boys hadn't heard from him all day, and since Michael wasn't with you, they knew the truth.
He had run away. Michael had done this to another girl before and the boys could only guess the outcome of how it would be with you.
"Lets go boys, she's up" Ashton said as he woke the other boys up.
They tiredly stumbled down the hallway following the doctor, not even hearing what he was saying. They had been here for nearly 24 hours before they were allowed to see you.
"I'll be in to check in a while" the doctor said before he left.
Ashton was the first one in. He smiled at you as he sat by your bed.
"Hey y/n, how ya feeling?"
You stared at him blankly trying to think of who he was. You only got more confused when two other boys sat beside you.
"Hey y/n" one boy mumbled.
You knew your name but you had no idea who these boys were.
"Who are you?" You asked quietly.
Ashton suddenly realized what had happened. You hit your head so many times that you ended up losing your memory.
"Oh y/n I'm so sorry" Ashton breathed out as he hugged you.
The other boys quickly caught on and joined in the hug.
You stayed like that until a doctor stepped in the room.
"I suppose you guys know" he nodded.
"Uh yeah" Ashton said.
"We think your memory will return y/n" the doctor said, resting his hand on your shoulder.
He then turned to the boys, "Her mind is blocking something out, we think, that's why her memory isn't coming back"
All the boys locked eyes with each other. You were blocking out Michael leaving. They knew that was what caused this all.
You got out a week later. The boys spent the first night with you but eventually you forced them out, insisting that you would be ok.
What they didn't know was that Michael knew what had happened. He was still on your emergency call list.
Michael didn't immediately come home but after week of not knowing anything he booked the first flight home. He didn't know if you had your memory back, he didn't know if you were still in the hospital, he didn't know how you were doing and it was enough to make him go home.
After hearing the knock on the door you went down the stairs more carefully. You weren't sure who it was so there was no rush to answer the door quickly.
A boy you had never seen before stood on the porch. Your head hurt trying to think of who this could possibly be. You didn't think you could handle trying to remember another person since many people had come to check on you the past week.
"Hello y/n" he murmured.
Michael could feel his heart rate speed up when he saw the look on your face.
"Oh no c'mere" he said trying to pull you into a hug.
Your head was hurting. You knew him you just couldn't remember his name or who he was but he was in your last memory which was replaying in your head.
Michael stepped into the familiar house and closed the door behind him.
"Y/n please, c'mere" he reached for you again.
"Michael" you whispered.
"You remember me" he smiled.
"You-where were you?" you stuttered. You were still trying to place the fuzzy images together.
You gripped his shoulder to keep yourself steady.
"Easy, easy, it's ok" he said as he held your hips, "Careful love"
You closed your eyes as you remembered waking up alone then Michael's words from the night before started racing around your head.
"Don't leave" you whispered, holding him tighter.
"No no no I'm not leaving, never again" he assured.
"Ok" you nodded as you rested your head against his shoulder. Michael kissed your head before he buried his face in the crook of your neck.
