It was Friday night and I had been sitting on the couch watching tv, alone in my apartment. My friend y/n had gone out with some of her friends, leaving me alone.

I looked towards the door when I heard it open. Y/n and some guy stumbled into the house. Their lips stayed connected as they stumbled through the dark. It wasn't hard to tell they were both drunk.

I sighed and pushed myself off the couch. I walked over to where they were and pulled the guy off of her. Y/n had always told me to stop anything from happening if she came home drunk with some guy.

"Hey watch it buddy" the guy said when I pulled him away. His face fell blank when he saw me. "Oh are you her boyfriend?" He asked.

"No but you need to leave" I said, leading him to the door.

"Michael don't be such a downer. Let me live geez" Y/n said, rolling her eyes.

"Look man, I'm really sorry" the guy said.

"Don't worry about it" I said. Once he was gone, I closed and locked the door. Y/n still hadn't move from her spot.

"Why would you do that Michael? I really liked him" She said.

"You have no idea who he was" I retorted.

"Stop trying to control my life" she said, almost yelling.

"You'll thank me in the morning" I replied.

Y/n started to walk towards me but lost her balance. I stepped forward and grabbed her arm before she could fall.

"You need to go to bed" I told her.

"No, stop telling me what to do"

"Y/n, love" I said softly as I lifted her up into my arms. "You're drunk, you need to go to bed"

"Michael" she whispered, almost pleading.

"What is it?" I asked softly.

I noticed how she placed her arm over her stomach. Nodding, I carried her into the bathroom and placed her on her knees in front of the toilet. Right as I did, she leaned over and emptied her stomach.

"Shh, it's alright" I said, rubbing her back.

I carefully lifted y/n up and placed her on the counter. I filled a cup of water from the sink and handed it to y/n. When I did, I noticed the tears running down her cheeks.

I gently lifted my hand to cup her cheek and rubbed my thumb across her cheek, brushing away some of her tears.

"What's the matter love?" I asked her softly.

"I just want to finally meet someone y'know? I hate being the only single one when I'm with my friends. I can't go out without being a third wheel" she explained.

I bit my lip and placed my hands on her hips before leaning in and softly pressing my lips to hers. It took a moment but eventually she wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me back.

Y/n suddenly tensed up and pushed me away. After a moment, I took a step towards her again and grabbed her hands.

"I'm sorry y/n. I just-it's just" I sighed, trying to find the right word. "Screw it, I love you"

"I love you too" she whispered, kissing me again.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I mumbled against my lips.

When she nodded, I tilted my head up and pressed my lips against her forehead.

"You need to go to bed" I murmured. I gently lifted her up as I spoke. Y/n wrapped her legs around my waist and laid her head on my shoulder as I carried her back to her bedroom.

After laying her down and covering her with the blankets, I turned her lamp off and headed towards the door.

"Michael" y/n said, stopping me in my tracks.

"Yeah?" I whispered. "What is it?" I walked back over to the bed and knelt next to her.

"Will you sleep in here tonight?" She asked.

I slowly shook my head. "Not tonight" I whispered. I stood up and kissed her forehead before I left.

"Y/n" I called softly when I entered her room. I made sure to close the door to keep the light out of the room before sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Hey baby girl, wake up" I said, rubbing my hand on her thigh.

Y/n groggily rolled over and placed her hand on her forehead.

"Michael" she groaned. "I feel like shit"

"You're hungover" I chuckled. "Here, I have Advil for you and Taco Bell"

"You're the best Mikey" she smiled.

"Y/n how much of last night do you remember?" I asked hesitantly.

"I remember you asking me out then you didn't want to sleep in here, that's all" she answered.

"I wasn't sure if you would remember and I didn't want you to freak out if you woke up next to me" I laughed.

"I don't think I would have" she smirked.

I smacked her arm and laughed before laying down next to her. I took her into my arms and rested my chin on the top of her head.
