I smiled as I walked down the hall. Today was my 19th birthday and when Michael wasn't in bed, I assumed he was in the kitchen or living room. My smile dropped when I saw him and Calum on the couch arguing over a video game.
"Hey Mikey" I smiled, pecking his cheek.
"Hey" he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back. He quickly pressed his lips on mine, "Good morning" he smiled.
I attempted to give him a smile as I pulled away from him. To say I was hurt would be an understatement. He forgot my birthday. Instead of thinking about it, I leaned against the counter watching the rain fall outside.
"Babe what are you doing?" Michael chuckled, as he came in the room.
"Just having breakfast" I said quietly. He hummed looking through the fridge.
"So are we doing anything today?" I asked.
"No" he answered, "Why? Did you want to do something?"
"Nope" I whispered, "I'm gonna go" He nodded and pecked my forehead. I gave him a small smile and left the apartment.

"Ok she's gone" I said watching y/n walk away from the building. Calum nodded and pulled out the decorations I had bought.
"She didn't look upset" I commented as I hung up a banner saying happy birthday.
"She was just trying to cover it up" Calum smiled. I shrugged and started blowing up balloons.
"Oh I forgot the cake is in my car. I picked it up this morning. I'll go get it" Calum said. I nodded since I was in the middle of blowing up a balloon. A few minutes later he came back with a box in his hands.
"What kind of car does y/n have?" He questioned.
"A black lexis" I answered.
"It's parked next to yours right?" He asked.
"Yeah" I said slowly, while standing up.
"Her car is still there" he said.
"Shit are you serious?" I asked.
"I'm not lying. Her car is there"
"Mines there too?" I questioned. He nodded again.
"That means she walked. Oh god look how hard it's raining out. And it's storming. She's scared of thunder and lightning Calum. It's cold and she's gonna get sick. I'm such an idiot" I said, tugging at my hair.
"It's ok Michael just calm down. Take your car and go look for her. She's couldn't of gone far" Calum said calmly. He placed my car keys in my hand and pushed me to the door.
"Thanks cal" I gave him a small smile. I drove down street after street looking for her. I quickly pulled over when I saw her at the corner of the street. She flinched when thunder hit and lightning struck.
"Y/n" I mumbled, wrapping my jacket around her from behind. She flinched but relaxed when she saw it was me.
"What were you thinking baby?" I asked, sinking to the ground as her legs gave out.
"You forgot about my-" a sob cut her off.
"No no sweetheart" I shook my head "Let me get you to the car then I'll explain"
She turned so she was facing me and pressed her freezing lips against my cheek. I lifted her up, her legs going around my waist so I could hold her. I adjusted my jacket so it stayed around her. She flinched when the thunder sounded. I quickly placed her in the car and got in and turned the heat on for her.
"You forgot my birthday" she whispered, her eyes shooting daggers into me.
"No I didn't baby" I shook my head "I needed you out of the house. And I knew if I ignored you you'd leave. Calum was only over this morning to help me set up a surprise party for you" I explained. Her tears stopped as she took my hand, kissing all of my knuckles. Her hands and lips were cold making a shiver run down my spine.
"I never expected you to walk down the street in the middle of a storm" I chuckled. I parked by our apartment building again and we walked up together. I stopped right in front of the door and turned to look at her. Her clothes were clinging to her and her hair was dripping. Tears and rain drops were fixed on her cheeks under her red and puffy eyes. To me she looked like the most beautiful girl in the world. I slowly leaned in, cupping her cheek, and kissing her gently.
"How could I forget about my beautiful girls birthday?" I chuckled, kissing her one more time. I lead y/n to the bedroom and gave her a pair of clothes that would keep her warm.
"Baby don't ever leave like that again. You had me so worried" I said, rubbing my hands up and down her arm.
"I was just upset" she mumbled, "I turned 19 and my boyfriend didn't even say happy birthday but I didn't know you were throwing me a surprise party but I'm so lucky to have an amazing boyfriend that cares so much" she whispered, cupping my cheek.
"Happy birthday baby" I smiled.
"Thanks" she breathed out against my chest.
