Chapter 25: Court

Abriana's POV:
~30 days later~
Today is my court date...
It's my final court date..
This will determine if I leave or I stay..
I know it's a misdemeanor charge
because Derek lied to the cops..
I'm dressed in a black dress suit
My hair finally fixed up after what seemed forever
I have some makeup on
I walk down the courthouse's hallway leading to the court room
My lawyers behind me including Mr. Sawyer
One of the best lawyers in New York.
I walk in & everyone looks at me
"Now that the Defendant has arrived may we start the trial?" One of Derek's lawyers  says smirking
The judge nods & we start the trial..
~during trial~
"The defendant here was not at the scene of the crime or was at the scene of it..I hereby say Mr. Luh is a liar. I find the plaintiff guilty of the crimes my client has been charged with" Mr Sawyer says
The judge thinks & I take the stand
"Ms. Castalino where were you? On the day of August 30th. The time was 3am" the judge asks me
I frown
"I was home sir. With my boyfriend Nate Maloley"
"You weren't outside that night?"
I shake my head
"No sir."
He nods & we take a break..
~the verdict..~
I'm sitting down
Many people took the stand
Hours have passed
Now the verdict will be told in a few minutes
I hold Nate's hand
"I love you" I mouth
He kisses my hand
"Please stand" the judge says
"I find Abriana Castalino not guilty of First Degree Murder & I find it a Misdemeanor Charge." The judge says
"Case dismissed!" He adds & slams the gavel down
I tear up tears of joy & hug my mom & Nate tightly
Gilinsky runs over to me & hugs me
"I was scared that something bad would've happened!" He says looking at me worried
"To me? G are you feeling sick?"
He shakes his head
"No..I wanna apologize for the way I've treated you..I'm deeply sorry & I wanna start over with you.."
I smile
"Okay..first I want ice cream!" I say
He giggles
"Deal"
We all leave..
I have a huge smile on my face..
I'M FREE.....
