thanks for your help, iseul.

I'm sorry I couldn't say
goodbye personally.
I'm sort of in a tight
schedule.
I left with tom
a few mins
before the bar
closed down.

"how's life, tom? being a host, I mean." yoongi tries to keep up with his newly found companion as they make their way to the public park.

the park's where tom had agreed to talk with yoongi, but only for a while, since he's only been moved by responsibility having that the guy waited a solid four hours just to have a conversation with him.

yoongi thinks it's a bit weird seeing the blond in normal clothes and a bare face. he's dressed down in a manner that reminds yoongi of namjoon. the same oversized coat preference (his is in the shade of dirty mustard) with a cream colored turtleneck sweater inside and dark jeans. though instead of newly polished leather shoes adorning his feet, he has a pair of black trainers on.

his hair looks less styled now, loose without the gel keeping it in place.

tom sighs. "I understand you've been buddying up with iris so she must've given you her real name."

yoongi nods when tom looks his way.

"it doesn't hurt to break a few rules, I guess. please, call me seokjin."

"yoongi."

seokjin nods at him, taking in account this gesture.

"being a host. it's not as fun as people say it is. honestly, it's very stressful. I only boasted about it the first time I got into the business. you get to wear fancy clothes, drink free alcohol, chit-chat and people praised you for speaking well and dropping poetic comebacks. I thought that was all to it. you get a decent pay too. but really, as time progresses, it gets tiring, repetitive, you'll be wanting to seek more."

they stop at a huge fire tree protruding at the midsection of the park and sit on the brick mantle it was enclosed in. yoongi eyes the fallen leaves beneath their feet and sighs.

even seokjin sounds like him.

"why not leave then?"

"it's not that easy. the job comes with a title, you know? once you've made a name for yourself, it'll be difficult going out of that zone. in additional, I've only began hosting for half a year. I barely saved enough to enroll myself to college." seokjin doesn't look at yoongi when he's talking. though, yoongi doesn't complain. yoongi would feel odd being stared at by such a handsome person anyways.

"that's funny 'cause I feel the same way, too." yoongi rubs his palms against his kneecaps.

"exactly." seokjin says.

to their right, a lamp goes out and darkens half of yoongi's face with a thick shadow.

"is this why you asked for me? so I can talk about my job and complain?"

"that's only part of the reason. I also came to talk to you about a guy." yoongi spares him a glance before reclining to stretch his legs and arms out and sits back up.

"shoot."

"okay. I'll be very straightforward here 'cause I still need to catch a bus by ten-forty and I don't want to miss it. does kim namjoon ring a bell to you?"

seokjin drones, chuckles a bit and shakes his head. "he's never going to go away is he?"

"I'll take that as a yes." yoongi scoots closer to the blond this time. "listen, I need a diversion. not for me, but for him. namjoon's a nice guy. smart. dresses well. partly cocky, partly snappy, but he's all in all a great guy. and I can't have him staking my ass the whole time I'm here. plus, he's trying to kill himself faster with these cigarettes-"

"wait, he smokes now?"

"a pack per day's more like it."

seokjin shakes his head, but this time, due to the shock. "jesus."

"yeah, he needs him." yoongi mutters. "but you're the closest he can get to a divine intervention."

"whoa, whoa, whoa, man. I know where this is going and the answer is a no. I dumped him, remember? I have a reason for that and it'll remain the same. I happen to be living better now. can't you see I'm doing great at my job?" seokjin's standing up, preparing to leave.

"just hear me out on this. you want to save up for college right?" yoongi's words stop seokjin in his tracks.

"I'm listening."

"w-well, I think if you get together again then he's bound to visit the bar more often. you get a usual. and I can assure you, he'll be bringing company with him most of the time. so more customers. and more customers mean more gains, easier for you to stack up on your funds."

"are you a businessman, yoongi-ah?"

"nah. people just call me young genius."

seokjin chuckles. the sound is light and yoongi thinks it matches the air around them.

"do you want to know why I broke up with him?"

"I don't mind."

seokjin sits back down beside yoongi."it's because he was too clever for my liking. he had a habit of seeming conceited around people whenever we attended social gatherings. he loved to boast more about his accomplishments and less about what mattered."

"well, what mattered more than his accomplishments, then?"

"honestly, you remind me so much of him." one of seokjin's hands lands on yoongi's shoulder, his fingers squeeze at him subtly. he looks him in the eyes with his brows heightened. "you're staring at the only thing that should've mattered to him, more than his rewards and respects. " seokjin declares as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. "me."
